How to get there

Skiathos International airport is serviced by a number of charter airlines during the summer season. These fly from a host of UK airports, the most regular arrivals being from Gatwick and Manchester although there are a number of others. These can all be easily researched on the internet. There are also plenty or European airlines arriving from multiple points of origin. The domestic airlines run all year round arriving from Athens on a regular basis. This gives the option of flying into Athens and making a connection, this may well be cheaper and Athens is well worth a visit.
There is also a regular and reliable sea transport service to the island. The larger, cheaper and slower ferries that supply the islands hail from the mainland port of Volos, the smaller, faster and slightly more expensive "Flying Cats" offer a foot passenger only service running along the same routes.

Getting around

There is a bus stop at the junction with the main road approximately 1km from the house. From here there is a cheap and reliable service around the island. A water taxi service runs from Kanapitsa beach which is a short walk from the house, the boat runs between there and the town. Taxis are also plentiful and can be ordered by phone. Once in town there are ferries, hydrofoils to the mainland and other islands as well as day trip boats of every description to many destinations.
