Vis is located 40 km west of Split. Ferry boats (company Jadrolinija) from Split to Vis operate frequently, it takes about 2 hours to get there. Vis is the third largest island of the Dalmatian coast and has been a restricted area until 1995. Therefore the original structures are well preserved.

In Summer Jadrolinija operates also a ferry boat to Ancona, Italy. The nearest airport is Split-Kaštela (SPU).

Split is connected to the Croatian highway, take the exit "Split Center" and follow the signs to the ferry boat port in the city center.
