- From the airport: since Sarajevo public transport system does not have transport routes from the airport, we recommend getting a taxi. Be careful, since some taxi drivers will try to take longer routes or turn off the meter - (this is very common experience for foreign tourist in Sarajevo, so please be aware and do not overpay your ride, and you can contact us if you have any trouble)! Your ride should cost you around 10€ (may vary slightly depending if the driver charges additionally for luggage), however make sure that you have local currency to pay your ride, there are ATMs and exchange offices at the airport.
- From the train station/bus station: train station and bus station are located right next to each other. From here you can take a taxi ride or take a tram. If you will take the tram, make sure you get on the tram line #1 (Zeljeznicka stanica – Bascarsija). Also make sure that you purchase tram ticket (you can buy it from the driver for .90€), and make sure that you put it in the ticket machine to check your ride, since the ticket checkers/conductors can be very unfavourable to foreign tourists without proper tram tickets. Make sure that you get off the „Vije?nica“ tram station. If you count the tram station at the terminal as zero („0“), then you will get off at station number seven („7“), and follow the „on foot“ directions.
If you take a taxi, your fare should be around 4€. Also make sure that you have local currency to purchase both tram tickets or pay for the taxi.
