How to get there

The house is a ten minute walk or short taxi ride from Bath Spa station which is the best way to travel to Bath. If you are coming by car we can provide residents parking for two cars in zone 16 which is about 5 minutes walk from Benson Cottage. Visitor parking permits are not issued by Bath council for the central area. To find the house by car take the Bath turn off from the M4 at junction 18. Turn right onto the A4 signposted to Bath after about 10 miles at the end of dual carriage way. After a a mile, passing Georgian houses on both sides of the road, you will see Walcot Esso Service Station on your right. Continue straight on through the next two sets of lights until a mini roundabout with two T R Hayes furniture showrooms on either side of the road. Take the second exit with the big furniture showroom on your right and St Stephens church on your left. Continue a few hundred metres along this road until you see Hay Hill Baptist Church on the raised pavement on your right. Hay Hill is a small pedestrian street just before the Baptist Church. To unload your car you can pull up on the wide pavement opposite the Baptist Church with your hazard light flashing. After unloading and picking up parking vouchers in the house, return back along the road passing TR Hayes showroom on your left then straight up the steep hill ahead beside the park. This is Margarets Hill. About 150 yards up the hill you can turn right in Pera Road which is zone 16 to park, or continue up the hill and park in the residents parking areas for zone 16. If you prefer to park in a public car park, the Podium carpark is 5 minutes walk away beside Waitrose at the end of Walcot Street in the centre of town. Charlotte Street car park for long term parking is 7 minutes walk the far side of Queen's Square
