How to get there
The nearest airport is Faro, which is about a 50 minute drive from the villa. Do shop around for flights as prices and extra charges can vary greatly.
Public transport and taxis are available to get from Faro and buses stop by our driveway, or, a rental car is much more convenient and at Faro airport you have a huge choice. Cars are generally cheaper if booked in advance from an agency such as Enjoy Travel or Carjet so shop around. Be aware that most car rentals charge a high insurance excess in addition to the basic damage cover. Again, this is a lot cheaper if taken out in advance from a specialist insurer rather than at the rental desk, but either way is less than a big bill for a damaged or stolen vehicle.

Getting around
A rental car is of course the most convenient but if you want to give the driver a rest, there are bus stops close to the driveway. Buses go either up to Monchique or down to Portimao, where there are connections to places near and far by bus, coach or train at reasonable prices. If you miss the last bus back to the villa (Baraccao bus stop), taxis and Uber are plentiful in Portimao and are not too expensive.
