How to get there
Flights from the uk go to Nice, Marseille and Toulon. The bus from Toulon is only 3 euros to Cavalaire, but if you are flying into Nice or Marseille it is advisable to hire a car, it is useful, although not essential to have one when in Cavalaire. The drive time is around one and a half hour from either Nice or Marseille.

Getting around
Locally there is a free 'navette' service a bus that stops at the bottom of the hill and takes you to local beaches this runs in peak months, but the local bus service is also very good and is only 3 euros. All the area is serviced by the buses, although they do not run in the evenings except to Toulon. It makes a lunch in St Tropez a very easy option, allowing a glass or 2 of the local Rose wine possible. Pedal bikes are available for hire from April through to October and there are many dedicated cycle routes.
