How to get there

From M27

You will need to leave the M27 at Cadnam junction 1 and take the B3079 for Bramshaw and Fordingbridge, when you get to the village of Brook you find the Green Dragon Pub on the left and shortly after The Bell and Bramshaw Golf Club on the right you need to fork left onto the B3078 towards Fordingbridge. This will take you uphill past the golf course on the left and into the Forest you will emerge from the trees onto open heathland, the road will then pass through a small valley once on the otherside start to look out for the junction with the B3078 sign posted Downton and Woodfalls, here you will need to turn right onto B3080 (it is effectively straight on because the B3078 bends to the left at this point).

Follow the road until you pass over the cattle grid to leave the New Forest, there will be houses now on the left hand side of the road, continue until the road bends sharply to the right. You are now in Woodfalls and on Map 2, continue pass the Woodfalls Inn, on your right, start looking for Slab Lane once you reach the Garage on your left: it is about 100 yards after the garage opposite the village post office.

Once in Slab Lane follow the road, it will start to go downhill after abourt ½ mile, continue down the hill past a farm entrance on the left, shortly after this the lane will become steeper and bend to the right you will see two cottages on the left and two redbrick cottages on the right – Wich Hazel is opposite these cottages on the left hand side.

From Salisbury

Take the A338 towards Downton and Ringwood. Turn left at the traffic lights by the Bull Hotel and continue through the village of Downton on the B0380 for approximately one mile, you will cross two small bridges and a pinch point to slow trafic. As you start to leave the village and climb towards Woodfalls there is a pinch point which is controlled by traffic lights. In the middle of the pinch point turn right into the bottom of Slab lane*. This is quite a narrow country lane. After about ¾ of a mile the lane splits, bear right and Wich Hazel is the third property on the right.

*Should you miss the right turn in the middle of the pinch point, don't worry continue up the hill into the village of Woodfalls and find the Post Office now on your left and turn right into Slab Lane (Follow the remaining directions in paragraph three).
