A valid passport is required to enter the Bahamas. The most convenient airport to Laguna is Governor's Harbour as both North Eleuthera and Rock Sound are about a hour drive away from the house. There are several flights a day from Nassau to Governor's Harbour on Bahamas Air, Pineapple Air and Southern Air. When you fly into Nassau, go to the far left line at Immigration. It is labeled the Family Islands line. It is for travelers getting connecting flights to other islands. This line will be much quicker. Once through Immigration, you go downstairs to collect your luggage and go through Customs at the far left of the room. You will then go outside leaving the International section of the airport and entering the Domestic section of the airport. Here you will check in for your Eleuthera flight, check your bags, and go through security. Once checked into your Eleuthera flight, stay close to the boarding gates. If everyone is checked in and the plane is ready, often the flights leave before their scheduled times. They will also combine flights if they have two half filled flights thereby changing your flight numbers. They will also add or delete additional stops as passenger needs require. So listen carefully to the overhead announcements and when in doubt ask the gate attendant. When leaving Eleuthera and flying out of Nassau to the United States, you clear US Immigration/Customs in Nassau. This usually takes about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Be sure to schedule your connecting flights with enough of a layover to clear Immigration/Customs.
