How to get there
Our two cottages (Wildflower Cottages) are situated in the small village of Alton close to Ashover. They are 5 miles from both Matlock and Chesterfield but there is no public transport in the village so a car is recommended. Travelling time from either junction 28 or 29 of the M1 motorway is around 20 minutes.

Getting around
There is excellent walking from the doorstep but we recommend a car for visiting the main attractions in the area. There are no bus routes within easy reach. The closest railway stations are in Chesterfield and Matlock, 5 miles away.
