How to get there

The directions below avoid the sat nav preferred route of going directly through the town of Ystrad Mynach which can get very congested due to a major new hospital being built.

From the North / Brecon: Take A470 to Cardiff.

From the South/ M4 Leave the motorway onto A470

Then Leave A470 onto A472 signposted Ystrad Mynach.

Continue over next three roundabouts.

Go past Rowantree pub on left.

At the fourth roundabout (new council offices on the left) go straight on towards ystrad Mynach.

Pass under a railway bridge.

At the next roundabouts(Two small ones together) The Royal Oak on left, bear right then left.

At the junction turn left signposted Bargoed

(This is the area for the slip road to the brand new Ystrad Mynach Hospital so if the road layout changes just follow signs towards Bargoed.)

At the next roundabout(Tesco on left)continue towards Bargoed.

Pass under the viaduct.

Stay on this road for a while.

Pass Aldi on the right.

You will see Denmans builders merchant and garden centre on the right then new houses on the left.

Turn left into the one way lane between the new houses and older terraced houses. Ours is the first house on the corner of the lane.

Please note - the turning into the one way street is easy to miss (most people do) so it's best to start indicating as soon as you pass Denmans. There is a pedestrian island just before the turn.

If you reach the large statue by the traffic lights, you have gone too far!

You have arrived - well done!
