How to get there

Red Funnel from Southampton to East Cowes run a passenger/car ferry service. They also run a high speed foot passenger service from Southampton to West Cowes. Wightlink Ferries operate passenger/car ferries from Lymington to Yarmouth and Portsmouth to Fishbourne, and Portsmouth to Ryde for passengers. Hover travel operate a passenger only service from Southsea to Ryde by Hovercraft. Trains operate from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin calling at Sandown station. Buses run from all ports on the Isle of Wight to Sandown and Yaverland operated by Southern Vectis .

Getting around

Getting around the Island is so easy, the Local buses are operated by Southern Vectis and connect routes all over the Island. Regular buses run between the main towns and resorts until late at night, services to rural areas operate throughout the day. The Island Train line service connects Ryde, Brading, Sandown, Lake and Shanklin. The train links up with both Ryde passenger ferry services. The carriages may look familiar..they are old London Underground ones ! By Car, many of the Island roads are narrow, so please take care. The roads are well sign posted, with major attractions in Brown Signs.
