How to get there

Leukerbad is easy to access whether you are arriving by air, train or by road. It is within easy reach of Geneva airport and once in Switzerland the journey is mostly by motorway making the driving very easy.

IF ARRIVING BY AIR

- Geneva airport is the closest major airport and is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive from Leukerbad. Geneva is served by many regular airlines (Swiss, Air France, BA etc) along with a number of budget airlines (Easyjet, Ryanair). You can also fly to Zurich although journey time to the resort is a little longer. Alternatively if you are coming for a full week some charter flights use Sion airport which is only 45 minutes away.

Once you have arrived in Geneva you can either drive to the resort or take the train which runs a very reliable service :

BY ROAD

- The journey from Geneva is very straightforward and is mostly on motorway. From Geneva airport take the motorway to Lausanne - Vevey - Montreux - Sion - Sierre (all the time heading for Simplon). Once the motorway finishes you continue on for another 6km then take the mountain road clearly marked Leukerbad (15km). This road winds its way up to the resort and even in bad weather is well plowed. More detailed directions can be provided upon booking. Total journey time less than 2 1/2 hours.

BY RAIL

From Geneva airport it takes about 2 hours to Leuk where a bus takes you up the hill to the resort which takes a further half an hour. No need to worry about the bus timetable as its always there to meet the train. Tickets can be ordered in advance from the SBB website (www.sbb.ch).
