From the North

Take the M6 south towards Birmingham. Take the M56 at junction 20, sign posted North Wales. On the M56 come off at junction 15, the M53 signposted Chester. The M53 becomes the A55 Keep on the A55 until the A483 signposted Wrexham. Follow the A483 to the A539 signposted Llangollen. Stay with the A539 through Acrefair, to Llangollen. At Llangollen turn left over the River Bridge. Drive through up the main road through the shops to the traffic lights. At the traffic lights turn right onto the A5, signposted Betws Y Coed. Stay on the A5 for 2.8 miles past Berwyn Railway Station, on up through the wooded incline, until the valley view starts to open out to the right hand side, after a sharp left hand bend. The road makes a sharp right hand bend with a row of posts with reflectors, just after this on the left there is a lay-by with the Toll-Gate caf?, we are on the right hand side, just a few hundred yards further on. If you arrive at the "Butterfly Man", you have gone too far.

From the South

Take the M6 north to junction 10sa, the M54. Stay on the M54 until it becomes the A5, stay on A5 past Shrewsbury and Oswestry. At the A483/A5 roundabout, turn left staying on the A5, signposted Llangollen. Carry on along the A5 to Llangollen, At the Traffic lights in Llangollen carry straight on, signposted Betws Y Coed.
