Secret Bothy is within a few miles of two mainline railway stations. Pitlochry station is just 3 miles south and Blair Atholl about the same distance in the opposite direction. These connections allow for direct rail travel up to Inverness (and beyond) or to London. In other words, rail travel from here is good. However, once you are here there is a lot to explore. Your own wheels are essential. There is car hire available locally but it must be booked in advance. Two wheels are also an option - either your own or hired locally. There are several places to rent bikes. There is a rural bus service but the service is limited.
