Although we suggest a car is essential it is possible to manage without one:
There is a nearby railway station in Wem (3 miles). There are no taxis available at the station. Contact us before the start of your stay if you need contact numbers of local taxis. We do not advise walking the 3 miles to Piggery Cottage since it is on a rural B road (the B5476) without pavement or street lights. Shopping can be brought in for you by prior arrangement with the owners. The nearest pub is 1 mile away on the B5476 - a pleasant walk in summer.
