How to get there

By car, Sat Nav; postcode PA23 8TJ From Glasgow, follow the M8 for Greenock, then the A8 for Gourock. Take the A770 for Western Ferries, 2 miles beyond Gourock, There is no advanced booking, but is worth visiting their website for timetables, there are about 3 ferries an hour. Enjoy the 20 minute ferry trip as you cross the Clyde estuary to arrive at Hunters Quay. Once off the ferry turn right on the A815 for 2 miles. Turn right at the T junction and continue on the A815; after 3 miles turn right for the A880, driving through the villages of Kilmun, Strone, and arriving in Blairmore. The Old Post Office is located opposite the Pier.Alternatively from Glasgow you can follow the M8 towards Greenock. At junction 30 exit for the Erskine Bridge, then follow the M898. Take the A82 for Crianlarich, then at Tarbet, follow the A83 signposted for Campbeltown. Turn left for the A815 for Dunoon. Turn left onto the A880, and follow the road through the village of Ardentinny and onto Blairmore.By bus.The local bus services are regular and reliable, and there is a bus stop close by, so guests without a car will have no trouble getting to us or travelling about the area.Trains from Glasgow arrive in Gourock to connect to regular Argyll passenger ferries to Dunoon. The 489 bus pick up from Dunoon ferry terminal and arrives in Blairmore in about 25 minutes.

As an area of relatively small settlements surrounded by countryside, the easiest way to explore is by car, motorcycle or bicycle. The are also many walks and trails, and regular bus services serve villages and towns in the area.Taxi services are mainly used for relatively short journeys around the main settlement of Dunoon. Many of our guests use a combination of methods to get around... a bus to a beauty spot and then a pleasant walk home. How about bringing your bike, driving a little further afield and then explore a new area by cycle before driving back to Blairmore.
