How to get there

By Air then Train: Swiss efficiency at it best! There are fast trains from either Geneva Airport (2h 20), Zurich Airport (2h 45) or Milan Centrale (2h 30) to Sierre, followed by a 17 minute funicular journey up the mountain to the Marigny stop at the bottom of our driveway. It’s easy to check train times, platform numbers and/or prebook tickets from either airport through to Marigny. Snowjet flies from Stansted to Sion from £79, then rent a car to get to us in 30 minutes. Regular EasyJet flights to main airports throughout the year.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi or the bus from Sierre’s train station up the 14km mountain road. The former will take around 25 minutes, the latter 45 minutes depending on snow conditions. Click here for bus timetables. The number for a taxi is 00 41 27 485 0404.

Renting a Car at the Airport: Try Europcar, Sixt or EasyCar but book online first for the best deal. NB: Book to pick up your car from the Swiss, not the French, side of Geneva Airport.

By Car: Crans-Montana is around 9 hours from Calais or Boulogne. We find the quickest route is via Dijon and Pontarlier. You will need a road tax vignette to drive on Swiss motorways - purchase at the border for cash or online for £29 including booking fee.

Cross the Swiss border at Vallorbe, Geneva or La Cure or, if coming from Geneva Airport, take the A9 motorway to Sierre via Montreux. Pick up signs to Crans-Montana, taking the mountain road. Go right at the Montana/Bluche/Randogne sign, then take a left at the next junction coming into resort on the Route de la Comba, passing the Hotel de la Foret on your right. At the next crossroads there’s a sign to Barzettes/Violettes and Aminona on the right and a bus stop on the left.

Go left here on to Route desTsintres, following the road down until you see the Marigny funicular stop on your right. Here is Impasse de Clovelli and the start of our driveway. Turn right here and Chalet Ermellino is on the right just before the end of the lane. Go to www.mappy.ch or www.bls.ch for further car directions from other starting points.
