By Car
From the A143 between bury St Edmunds & Diss, follow signs to Stanton Windmill. Once you get to the windmill (on your left), continue for a further half mile, up a hill, and Upthorpe Lodges are signed, on the left.
By Rail
Network Rail serves the nearby towns of Bury St Edmunds and Diss (London mainline).

Hook of Holland to Harwich is our nearest Ferry port from mainland Europe, from where you can reach the A12, then the A14 west.

Getting around
Use of a car is recommended as we are in Suffolk countryside. However, we are close to a bus route and pick-up from our nearest train station (Thurston) can also be arranged. There are several country walks nearby and we also have cycles to borrow upon request.
