How to get there

Arrival to the mainland of Greece is the usual way to travel to Naxos but with airlines opening more routes from Europe now to the islands of Santorini and Mykonos and the regular ferry connections with Naxos, the journey taking no more than 2 hours, this is becoming a more popular choice.

Athens airport is served by many airlines including Aegean Air,British Airways, Norweigan Airways and Easy Jet.

Olympic Air and Sky Express also have regular daily flights from Athens to Naxos but these need to be booked well in advance as it is only a small aircraft.

Ferries run regularly from the port of Piraeus,Athens which can be reached by taxi, metro or a number 96X bus, which will take approx. 1.5 hours at peak times. Taxi and bus stops are directly outside the arrivals terminal of the airport.

Ferry companies include Blue Star Ferries,Hellenic Seaways,Nel Lines and Super Jets and it is advisable to book these on line well in advance for the High season.

Car hire would be highly recommended to enjoy all the beauty of Naxos further and we would recommend The Rental Centre,Court Square,Naxos. This is one of the oldest, established, independant companies here, with friendly, helpful staff speaking many languages. You can also be assured of full insurance and no extra charges for meeting on arrival, regardless of the time!
