It is just the two of us here, and our four cats who you will see running about the place no doubt causing mischief! We love walking, cycling and swimming in the summer; which is great because we are in the midst of one of the most beautiful areas of rural France.

We are situated in the charming hamlet of La Besse, part of the Videix commune which lies on the borders of the Haute Vienne and the Charante.

Here, you will discover calmness and tranquility with only a smattering of houses and rustic barns.

From the front door you can simply step out onto one of the many sleepy lanes, and hidden paths that meander through the beautiful countryside, where you will be accompanied by only nature and wildlife.

If you're wondering about your everyday essentials, just a quick 10-minute drive away you'll find the delightful town of Rochechouart. It's got everything you need including several bakeries, cozy cafes, charming small restaurants, handy supermarkets, a pharmacy and a convenient post office. Plus, a picturesque chateau that showcases contemporary art, a tiny museum dedicated to meteorites, and a charming church with twisted spire.

Located approximately 50 minutes away by car, we are perfectly positioned between the historic cities of Angouleme and Limoges. Both cities offer excellent train connections and car rental services to the UK and Europe.

If you're traveling by air, our closest airport is Limoges, just a short 40-minute drive away. Alternatively, you can easily reach us from Bordeaux, Bergerac, or Poitiers airports in around 2 hours.
