How to get there

If you are travelling long haul I recommend you stay one night in BKK or nearby airport hotel - especially if arriving late at night.

Then you can get up refreshed the next day to begin your drive down to Pranburi.

There is an airport in Hua Hin which has domestic flights to and from BKK and other Thai locations. Check before you fly.

We can arrange a car to collect you from Hua Hin Airport if you give us your flight itinerary in advance. (local charges apply)

If you are travelling as a family with young kids I would strongly suggest hiring a minibus and driver. Plenty of room for you and your luggage. Door-to-door hassle free transport - most even have a DVD/TV for the kids. Especially if you are travelling at night.

We can arrange for a driver who we know and knows where our villa is to meet you with a name board at airport arrivals and transfer you directly to the villa. The journey is around 2 hours 45 mins (traffic willing) (THB2-3,000 - driver will be looking for cash payment)

If you want to hire a car, do a deal with Avis in Hua Hin to deliver your hire car to the villa the day after your arrival - much easier than renting from the airport and giving yourself the stress of driving long distances in a country whose roads you are not familiar with.

If you are concerned about your budget then I would suggest an air con coach ticket (THB305 per person) this would be fine during the day but not sure about night time operation. You still have to get a taxi to take you from the bus station in Hua Hin to the Villa.

It works very well for the return journey to the airport - great if you are a couple or Billy no mates!

For local transport:

You can rent a motorbike if you like to live dangerously - Some people with a death wish like to ride wearing flip flops and no helmet - definitely not recommended!

Hire a car for a few days and plan your trips to make the best of the hire period. No point in paying car hire for it to stand in the drive way!

There are plenty of local taxis and bus/van operators around so you can get around without too much difficulty but a hire car will set you free.

If you don't drive but don't like the idea of local buses - you can do a deal with the nice van driver or local taxi driver to run you around.

If you only want to go local - you can rent push bikes but use helmets and ride defensively.

We don't want you or anyone in your family staying at the local hospital instead of our villa :-).
