How to get there

Directions to the apartment:

FROM BUDAPEST AIRPORT BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT OR TAXI:

With two single tickets/person (transfer tickets are available only at metro stations).

Bus 200E starts near the exit of the Terminal and leaves every 5-8 minutes to K?bánya Kispest Metro Station.

It is 8 stops from the Airport, if the driver stops everywhere (pls. see "Additional information" below).

It's possible to buy single tickets for bus 200E from the driver for 450 Huf, otherwise the price of a single ticket is 350 Huf.

You will need some Hungarian Forints. Change some at the airport or good to have some already.

Upon arriving to K?bánya-Kispest Metro Station, right where the bus stops, a sign can be seen on the wall showing the way to Metro 3 (the blue line).

Probably more people will get off there for the metro.

If you happen to miss this station, don't worry because the next - and the last - stop of bus 200E is "Határ út", which is also one of the stations of the same Metro 3. If you happen to get off there go under ground and take the metro in the direction of "Újpest-Központ" and go 9 stops to Deák Ferenc Square!

Ok, let's get back to "K?bánya-Kispest" where you hopefully got off.

Once you are at the station, take the Metro in the direction of "Újpest-Központ" and come to Deák Ferenc Square which is the 10th stop from here.

At Deák Ferenc Square come up to the surface and at once you'll recognize the big block of buildings made of red bricks. That's Madách Imre Square. Come there and and turn into the square. The house can be found between the theater and the bars on the left.

By taxi:

----City council approved new regulations and prices for Budapest Taxis from September 1 2013.

Among other things, all taxis will be required to be capable of accepting payment by bank card.

The new rates are the following: starting fare - 450Huf, distance fee - 280Huf/kilometre, waiting fee - 70Huf/minute.

Additional information:

----Buses and trolleys do not stop if there are no getting off or getting on passengers. Passangers signal their intention to get off by pressing the signal-buttons between two stops when the desired stop is approaching. Metros, HEV-trains and trams stop at every stations. Ticket-validation on buses, trolleys, HEV-trains and trams is on the vehicles.

----On buses, trolleys, trams and HEV-trains (which are the lines not under ground) one single ticket is for one ride until getting off the line no matter how many stops you go.

----On metros the rules are the same, with a little addition, it's possible to change at Deák Ferenc Square from one metro to the other without validating a new ticket. Validation on metro is before entering the platform or going down on the moving stairs, in the orange color ticket machines anywhere in the territory of the metro station.

----Tickets can be bought at newspapers shops and at cashiers of the metro stations.

----Validate your ticket by pushing it into the ticket machine with it's 1-9 numbered side facing upwards.

----Always check the direction of the lines before you get on.

----Always check the exchange rate before you would change too much money, because the rate can be low at some places!

Most of the exchange offices does not accept coins, or give much less for them, so better keep them.

FROM NÉPLIGET BUS STATION BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT OR TAXI:

With one single ticket/person.

There is Metro 3 at Népliget right under the bus station.

By Metro 3 (the blue one) in the direction of "Újpest-Központ", come 6 stops and get off at "Deák Ferenc Square".

At Deák Ferenc Square come up to the surface and at once you'll recognize the big block of buildings made of red bricks. That's Madách Imre Square. Come there and turn into the square. The house can be found between the theater and the bars on the left.

FROM KELETI RAILWAY STATION BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT OR TAXI:

With one single ticket/person.

I think from Keleti the best way to come is by Metro 2 (the red line), which is right under the Station.

Go underground and take the metro in the direction of Déli-Pályaudvar". From Keleti come to "Deák Ferenc Square" which is the 3rd stop from there.

At Deák Ferenc Square come up to the surface and at once you'll recognize the big block of buildings made of red bricks. That's Madách Imre Square. Come there and and turn into the square. The house can be found between the theater and the bars on the left.
