From Peebles, follow your satnav* out of Peebles, past the High School, onto the Bonnington Road*.

or, go to the bottom of Peebles High St., turn left over the Tweed bridge, past the turning to the right with a tree, and take the right fork to Springhill Road, then first right (300 yards) and first left onto Bonnington Road (with the High School on your right).

About 2 miles out of the 30 mile limit there is a bad right bend with “Hundleshope” on the corner. IGNORE. Continue on main road, with Cademuir Hill on your right, over a cattle grid and 2 miles on is Cademuir on the left. Down a farm road, and straight in front is a closed gate to Wood Cottage.

From the south and west, on the A72 c. 2 miles before Peebles, (after a straight followed by a blind left corner then the Eddston Quarry on your left) turn sharp right to “Kirkton Manor 1.5miles”. It is a very sharp turn down a steep hill. If you have got to traffic lights and Neidpath Castle you have gone too far.

After 1.5 miles, turn right to “Peebles via Cademuir ¾ mile”. Over silver bridge and cattle grid, past two houses on the right, up a small brae, Cademuir is next on the right down a farm road. Go down the farm road, past the farmhouse (with a copper roof) and to the end, turn right and a closed gate is the entrance to Wood Cottage.

Wood Cottage is the right hand door.
