How to get there

Car hire is available at both airports but is a bit more expensive than mainland UK.If coming from Dublin the new N1/M1 motorway is excellent and from Belfast the M2 (North) is easily accessed and well signposted to the North Coast - Coleraine & Portrush.

If you have time it is well worth getting onto the Causeway Coastal Route at Belfast or Larne and this drive is regarded as one of the world's most scenic routes as it meanders along the coast through picturesque villages and glorious scenery to Portrush and beyond.

The time from Belfast to Portrush is approximately 2.5 hrs but it can take considerably longer if you want to take photographs or stop for a break at one of several 'hostelries' along the route!!.

The local bus service to Coleraine, Portrush or Portstewart is reasonably good and the nearest bus stop is approximately 200 yds from Ashlea Cottages.

if you are intending to visit Londonderry, a good suggestion is to take the train from Coleraine as it is a beautiful journey.
