How to get there
Baleshare is connected to the larger island of North Uist by causeway, which in turn is connected to Berneray and Benbecula, and South Uist and Eriskay via Benbecula. Ferry ports for this interconnected cluster of Islands are located at Lochmaddy (for the ferry to Uig, Skye), Berneray (for the ferry to Leverburgh, Harris), Lochboisdale (for ferries to Oban or Mallaig) and Eriskay (for ferries to Barra). The local airport is Benbecula for flights to Glasgow and inter-island connections.
