The Basse-Normandie region

Basse-Normandie is predominantly agricultural in character, with cattle breeding the most important sector (although in decline from the peak levels of the 1970s and 1980s). The bocage is a patchwork of small fields with high hedges, typical of western areas. Haute-Normandie contains a higher concentration of industry.

Normandy is a significant cider-producing region, and also produces calvados, a distilled cider or apple brandy. Other activities of economic importance are dairy produce, flax (60% of production in France), horse breeding (including two French national stud farms), fishing, seafood, and tourism.

Mantilly

The village of Mantilly is only .7 of a mile away. It has most of the facilities you will need including a garage, hairdresser, baker, patisserie, general store, bar, and church etc. Passais Le Conception 5 minutes away is a little larger with two garages,banks,pharmacist,2x doctors, hardware store, pizzeria bar, post office, butcher, bookshop, boulongerie, ,

Other places worth visiting are St. Framboult, a flower village which has in the past won the gold medal as the best in France, and Bagnole de L'Orne, which is a spa town of much charm. With a lake and casino plus treatment centres.

Local activities include walking, cycling, golf, tennis, water sports, horse riding and fishing.

"Peace and Quiet.... Lovely place to stay."

The gite is set in a beautiful part of rural Normandy with plenty of beautiful places to visit on your doorstep. The gite is large and comfortable and you can be sure that Peter and Ann will look after you in every way possible.
Great place to unwind.

Thank you Suzanne, for your kind comments. Hope to see you soon.

"Beautiful countryside.."

The cottage is very comfortable and cosy with everything you need. A lot of thought has gone into making your stay pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning. The owners are very helpful and friendly.… More

Sorry about the pool but we only put it out on request and you did not ask us whilst visiting!
Not all parants want a poll for safety reason.
Best wishes
