Two bedroom first floor and loft apartment in a private and secluded village house located in the centre of Manta Rota on a quiet 'cul de sac' only 200 meters from the beach.
This spacious apartment in a typical Portuguese village house is tastefully decorated, displaying several interesting features, namely original 1920's Art Deco double doors in Brazilian mohogany and a number of decorative pieces from countries afar. Access is through gates onto the patio area and up a flight of stairs, and it consists of an open plan living area with double bed and LCD TV, dining area, kitchen with a gas range and a Microwave/Grill/Oven supporting the breakfast area, and a bathroom with bidet, bath & shower.
From the living room a staircase leads to the second bedroom in the converted loft consisting of two single beds, wash basin, TV, and access to the good size terrace from which you have beautiful views over the village, the sea in the horizon. The loft ceiling is slanted as per photos (1,90m to 1,20m)
There are also 2 iPod Docking Stations available – one in the 1st floor, another in the loft, and heating and air conditioning throughout.
In the patio the hot/cold custom made jacuzzi that sits 4/5 comfortably with room to move around and splash is in fact a hydrotherapy facility equipped with a variety of massage jets, ready to take care of those sore points in your back 24/7, particularly welcome after an afternoon of beach activities or end of the day BBQ undertakings.
LOW AND MID SEASON HINT:
After a late afternoon brisk walk on the beach treat yourselves to a massage in a warm jacuzzi and then a candle light dinner, in or out. Paradise!
The jacuzzi is to be shared with the owners when they are in residence - which is only VERY occasionally, and the guests in the ground floor premises if let.
An outdoor shower in the patio will prove useful for jacuzzi users to shower sand away before getting in the jacuzzi if they are coming straight back from the beach. or quickly refresh themselves after a walk back from the super market in the heat of summer

All bed linen is 100% cotton as are pillow and mattress protectors and fillings.
There is a high chair and at no extra cost a folding bed can be added to the loft without sacrificing living space, raising the sleeping capacity to 5. A folding bed can also be added to the 1st floor living area.

Casa das Rodas is situated in a dead end alley away from the traffic and noise of the main road, a short walk from Ria Formosa and its 6 km of dunes and virtually empty beach - and yet literally 2 minutes from the local Market, Supermarkets, ATM machine and a number of restaurants, patisseries and bars. Pharmacy at 25m from entrance gate.

The Algarve region
Close to Manta Rota beach you will find Praia Verde,a beautiful beach with it's centuries old pine forest also well worth a visit. The Algarve offers the ideal conditions for round the year golfing and there are four Golf courses only a few minutes drive: Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima, Castro Marim Golf and the most prestigious of all, the Monte Rei Golf Club. The old village of Cacela Velha with its 16th century fortress and stunning sea vistas and the Roman town of Castro Marim are also worth the trip.
If you like gambling, there is a casino in Monte Gordo as well as many restaurants offering Portuguese and international cuisine. The beautiful town of Tavira, 16 km west of Manta Rota. is a jewel in itself, a place where it is very easy to lose track of time discovering the old town and its rich history. You can spend hours strolling the charming cobblestone streets before you succumb to the restaurants, shops, bars and terraced patisseries and enjoy a refreshment and the variety of the unique marzipan cakes and nibbles that are a stapple across the Algarve. Ilha de Tavira, - Tavira Island - with it's famous beach and many small restaurants is only a boat ride away.
The beach of Barril in Santa Luzia is also very nice. This beach is accessible by foot or, if you don't like to walk, there is a small train that takes you there.

Cacela Velha was an important centre during the Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula, and archaeological research indicates previous human occupation (probably Roman) in this area.
In the 16th century this fortification was reconstructed and conservation and restoration works lasted until the end of the 20th century.
Visit Cacella Velha at sunset - you will never forget the country side and sea vistas from the fortress walls.
Go for dinner at a restaurant called FABRICA the road sign of which you will see when you visit Cacela Velha. This restaurant has a large covered esplanade overlooking the Ria Formosa sea inlet and excellent seafood.
The Cacela Velha Fortress is classified as Monument of Public Interest .

The most amazing holiday I have ever had lovely sea view from the terrace the property has every thing you need with surrounding restaurants and bars would go back again next year

"What a great holiday!!!"
I'd been looking for a place to get away from everything and this was it. Endless miles of beach, friendly people, beautiful sunsets, not to mention coming home from all that to go and dip myself in the hydro-massage pool... which doesn't have to be heated by the way, and is seriously relaxing after a long day at the beach.
The local food is fantastic, relatively cheap and worth every penny... I simply cannot recommend this place strongly enough!!! Go go go... that's my advice...
