Our house is in Manilva, a typical Spanish white town (pueblo blanco), perched up on a hill but within easy reach of everything you want to do on holiday, whether that be whale and dolphin watching, golf, sailing, sunbathing, swimming, cycling, hiking, fishing, shopping, eating and drinking, a day trip to Africa, horse riding and birdwatching. Seville is around 2 hours drive away and historic and breathtaking Ronda about 1 hour.
The house has two light and spacious twin bedrooms, one en-suite with a shower, and another bathroom with bath and shower. A ground floor courtyard leads off the kitchen. The first floor living room leads onto a small terrace, from which tiled steps will take you up to a large roof terrace with views over the rooftops to the sea and towards Gibraltar and Africa. There are two sunloungers, 4 chairs and a small table for your G&Ts/wine/chilled beer.
Manilva is 2kms from the lovely long sandy beach at San Luis de Sabinillas, close to the golf course Finca Cortesin, and Duquesa, Valderrama and Sotogrande golf courses are all in easy reach. Estepona, Marbella, and Puerto Banus are a short drive away, yet mountains and country walks are also close by. It has everything for every kind of traveller. For birdwatchers there is a fantastic range of bird life - the area is on a major migration route. Casares, just up the road, is famous for its eagles.
Manilva is easy to reach from either Gibraltar or Malaga airports and it is possible to get some really good online deals on car hire in Spain. Manilva has a fresh produce market, butchers, bakers, fishmongers, bars, cafes and restaurants, a village square, Plaza Romance de la Luna, with its marble statues and fountains and a lovely church nearby. There is also an outdoor municipal swimming pool about 3 minutes walk away from the house. Sabinillas has a variety of good restaurants and beach bars. On the seafront there is a newly built tree lined promenade from Sabinillas all the way to Duquesa.
Your holiday is a good opportunity to mainly eat out but everything you need to prepare breakfast, lunch and evening meal is available in the kitchen should you stay in. There is a microwave and a 4 ring electric Bosch hob.
If you can see yourself having breakfast on one of the terraces, then spending your days relaxing on the beach and swimming in the deep blue waters, or maybe treating yourself to a round of golf at a world-famous course, and perhaps taking a day trip across the Straits to Morocco, followed by a bottle of wine by moonlight on the roof terrace then we look forward to hearing from you.

About this location
The Andalucia region
The area is very scenic, with green hills and lovely mountains, especially when the evening shadows are upon them.
It is great country for walking, birdwatching, biking and hiking.
Eagles of Casares - the area is famous for them. I have seen as many as 30 eagles circling at one time; an amazing sight.
Duquesa golf course is very close by and there are many others within range. The area is known as Costa del Golf for good reason, so, if it is your thing, then you have a great choice.
A little inland is Gaucin, a very picturesque white village on a hill, with outstanding views in all directions from the castle ruins.
Manilva itself has been transformed since we bought the house, just a few years ago. There is a new square, newly renovated wide alleyways with seating and baskets of flowers, and many roads, including ours, have been repaved and tubs of flowers have appeared in streets all over the village.
