Home description
Picture this.... wake up in the morning and check the crab nets you dropped off your private jetty the night before. Cook some breakfast while the kids fish off the jetty a few steps from your back door. Or head off to the Margaret River wine region for lunch, the jewel in Western Australian crown. Or maybe play a few rounds at The Cut International Golf course that overlooks the Indian ocean just around the corner.
You could also hire a boat and cruise the canals or head to the Mandurah foreshore and cafe strip on the waterfront. We could type all day about the activities in this tourist destination but best to discover the secrets for yourself

The Western Australia / Perth Metro Area
Western Australia is the largest state in Australia with an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy. Perth is a bustling tourist destination with so much to see and do.
Whether it's enjoying your days in and around the Swan River, or having a picnic at Kings Park and taking in the amazing views of the city - especially at night there is something for everyone.
Mandurah / Port Bouvard area
Home to a friendly school of dolphins and a huge variety of water birds, the Mandurah Estuary and Peel Inlet is just the place for water-based activities.
The safe waters of the estuary are perfect for boating and fishing, while three rivers run into Peel Inlet creating a pristine waterway environment.
Catch a meal of river prawns in early summer from the Murray and Serpentine Rivers, while king prawns are best during autumn. The Mandurah Estuary and Peel Inlet also produce excellent blue manna crabs during late summer and autumn.
There’s an annual crab festival in Mandurah in celebration of this local delicacy.
Popular spots to go fishing include the landings under the two Mandurah bridges, but if you have a boat, there’s a big waterway to explore – 155 square kilometres in total.
Dolphins are regularly spotted in the area, and special dolphin watching cruises take you up close to these friendly creatures.
Regular estuary and inlet boat cruises operate throughout the season from Mandurah.
The southern shores of these inland waters are also home to an important bird habitat.
Mandurah is about an hour’s drive south of Perth.
It is also in close proximity to the Margaret River wine region which is world renowned.
How to get there
The property is situated just south of Mandurah near the Cut Golf course and on the Port Bouvard East Port canals. From Perth, take the Kwinana Freeway to the end and exit onto Safety Bay Road. Then turn onto Ennis Ave and follow this road rthrough Mandurah and then to Port Bouvard, turning left onto Rees Road, then right onto Queens Road (there is signage on the wall that says "Port Bouvard East Port Canals", turn right into Sandpiper Island Retreat and follow the road around to the left until you reach the end of the cul-de-sac.

Guestbook for Jetties at Bouvard
"GORGEOUS home, very well equipped, the owners Deirde and Tim have gone above and beyond to ensure the most comfortable stay for guests. Fantastic entertaining area, would be an ideal home to visit with two families with ample rooms and a great area upstairs for children with a plasma whilst adults enjoy the MASSIVE plasma and entertaining areas downstairs. Kitchen area well equipped, far superior to the average holiday home. We look forward to our next stay and cannot thank Deirde and Tim enough for the exceptional level of customer service they deliver. Well done Kay family, and thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. - The Kirby Family." Jacqueline, September 2009
