The Western Australia / Perth Metro Area
Western Australia is one of those places that does "Exactly what it says on the box" !! They call it "The REAL Australia" ! Whatever you imagined Australia to be (MINUS the spiders and snakes) is more than likely what you'll find in WA. With it's 'sub-tropical' climate and all-year-round sun - there is something to please everyone. The second 'sunniest' place in the world (behind Florida, USA), so you are guaranteed sunshine no matter what time of year you visit. It boasts some of the best beaches in the world (bar none !) and the 'outdoor lifestyle' is just part of everyday life. Beach sports like fishing, surfing, boating, swimming, wind-surfing etc are all part of "the norm" as is alfresco dining, bbq's etc. Visit local parks where you can enjoy FREE bbq facilities - (YES, just take along your steak and sausages and some olive oil and off you go !) - while you watch the kangaroos, parrots, cockatiels etc all in their natural environment - FREE ! - It really does not get better than this !
Mandurah area
Mandurah is 76km south of Perth (45 minutes by car). It has a real 'holiday feel' about it. There are many cafes and restaurants - many of them waterfront. Mandurah is surrounded by water - the magnificent Indian Ocean, The Peel Estuary and wonderful man-made canals and waterways. Dolphins play in the pristine water and fishing, surfing and boating are just some of the readily available activities - right on your doorstep !
How to get there
Most major airlines fly into Perth. Emirates seem to be the most popular airline used by people heading out from the UK, followed by Singapore Airlines and Malaysian. All of these 3 airlines arrive daily at Perth International Airport mid to late afternoon.

Thanks for getting our holiday off to a good start Of all the accommodations we had in 4 our weeks ( Perth, Cairns, Melbourne & Sydney) : Bluewater Villa was the best. This is exactly the quality of accommodation that is appreciated : its clean, spacious, homely and lives up to the details on the web site, which is more than I can say for some other sites that we experienced.. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone visiting Perth. I must admit that Perth has something about it that makes it the most attractive city out of the 4 cities we stayed at, so I can understand why a lot of Brits choose to live there. We had a superb holiday, spent too much but that what holidays are for !
