About the home

Villa Miya is just a 5 minute drive from the airport based in the rural coastal village of Mandria and is a 10 minute drive to the picturesque, historical town of Paphos. Traditional cypriot tavernas, local supermarkets and unspoilt villages are a gentle 10 minute stroll away. Villa Miya, is fully air conditioned, has a large, open-plan living and dining area with a fully fitted well equipped, cherry, Italian kitchen with granite worksurfaces and stainless steel modern appliances. There is a 29" flat screen TV, Sky decoder, DVD player and iPod dock for your entertainment in the living with a wide selection of DVDs being available together board games and books. There is comfortable seating for all in the lounge area with 2 x 3 seater sofas, an armchair and large coffee table together with a dining table and chairs for 6. There is also "wicker" patio furniture with removable cushions for outdoor use.

Double patio doors lead out onto the large, paved poolside area housing a large patio table and parasol with chairs for 8 under the pergola with traditional Mediterranean climbing flowers. The rest of the garden features traditional Mediterranean flowering shrubs to all borders, landscaped with palm trees and flowering herbs. The garden is completely private and secure with perimeter fencing and gates to both sides of the villa. The pool is illuminated and is on an automatic timer. There are 4 pool side lights, two wall lights and two exterior lights for when entertaining outdoors, on an evening. There is also a large, chimneyed, stone, charcoal BBQ with illuminated, tiled serving bench. There are sun loungers for 6 and a further 2 parasols, 6 large sunbed towels are also provided. The pool has roman steps for ease of entry and varies in depth from 1 to 2 metres. A perfect and relaxing place to spend the whole day soaking up the rays of the Cypriot sun.

Facilities

The 3.5m x 4m master bedroom features a kingsized bed and has a 1.6m x 3m walk through dressing area. The dressing area contains huge amounts of storage space and has floor to ceiling, built in Italian wardrobes. There are two bedside cabinets with individual lamps and a main light switch above the bed. Double patio doors lead on the balcony which overlooks the pool and garden, perfect for watching the Mediterranean sunset. A mounted dress mirror hangs on the wall opposite with a hairdryer and double socket. The large onsuite shower room has a WC, pedestal washbasin with mirror and shelves and is fully tiled with mosaic to the walls. The bedroom has its own air conditioning unit. Full bedding together with bath and poolside towels are provided.

There are two, twin bedrooms measuring 3.4m and 3.2 x 4m respectively and both face the front of Villa Miya, one having double patio doors leading to a balcony with views to the sea and to the fields. Both feature adult sized single beds. Both have wall mounted dress mirrors as well as their own individual air conditioning units.

The family sized bathroom features a full sized bath with overhead shower and glass showerscreen, wash hand basin with vanity unit and mirror. There is an immersion heater switch labelled on the wall outside the bathroom next to the light switches should you need gallons of hot water.

A welcome pack is provided. All bedding is provided. All towels are provided. All windows and patio doors have fly screens. Air conditioning is included. The villa has floor tiling throughout. Maid service is provided once per week. During two week rentals all bedding and towels are changed at the end of the first week together with a villa clean. Pool cleaning is actioned twice weekly to ensure perfect bathing conditions. There is a net by the pool house should you wish to put this to use (it is surprisingly therapeutic!)

The secure garden is south west facing, perfect for spending the full day in the glorious Cypriott sunshine. The private pool is 8x4m with Roman steps and tiled poolside/patio.

There is off street parking on a side drive with a side entrance door into the Villa leading direcly to the kitchen - very useful for bringing in the shopping.

The Paphos region

Villa Miya is situated in the rural, coastal village of Mandria, near Paphos, on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

Birthplace of Aphrodite, goddess of love, it is the perfect holiday retreat for those seeking sanctuary from the hectic pace of modern life or an ideal base for excellent golfing experiences.

Although you are not far from anywhere in Cyprus, car hire is essential to make the most of your stay. Driving is on the left and all signs are in English. In the unlikely event that you get lost, anyone will be happy to help, such is the friendly nature of the Cypriot people.

The island itself has more to offer than could possibly be covered in this one site, from beaches to skiing. However, using Mandria Village as your starting point, here is a list of a few of the most popular.

Paphos Town is 14km west of Villa Miya and here you can experience both the modern and ancient culture of this historic town.
Paphos Town: - The Harbour & Castle, Tombs of the Kings, The Mosaics, Paphos Odeon, Byzantine Museum, Ayia Solomoni Church, Sarante Kolones
Paphos Area:- The Temple of Aphrodite, Petra Tou Romiou, The Arkanas Peninsular, The Baths of Aphrodite, Ayios Neophytos Monastery, The Troodos Mountains - Mount Olympus peaks this mountain range of quaint villages, stunning views and skiing opportunities together with skiing during the winter.
Everywhere:- Tavernas, Sunshine, Friendly Locals, Goats, Walking, Cycling.

Golfing:- there are currently three excellent golf courses from which to choose:
- Secret Valley, a par 74 course is approximately a 7 minute drive east from the villa.
- Aphrodite Hills an award winning par 71 course built across two plateaus separated by a ravine is just next door.
- Tsada which is situated 15km north east of Paphos and is a drive of approximately 30 minutes.
All of these courses offer wonderful playing experiences as well as first class facilities and the climate of Cyprus makes year -round golf a viableand attractive option.

The Mandria area

Villa Miya is only 7km from the airport and boasting a beautiful, unspoilt coastline and beaches. Mandria is a peaceful, rural village with several tavernas, two supermarkets, a bakery and a bank, all adjacent to the village square. The gentle pace of life is palpable.

The tavernas and unspoilt beaches are a gentle 10 minute stroll away.

Villa Miya is only 7/8 kilometres from the airport and is only a 5 minute drive away. Mandria is the first village to the east of the airport. Car hire is recommended to make the most of your stay at Villa Miya. Cyprus is not a huge island and you never seem to be far from anywhere but if you wish to explore the island in complete freedom, your own vehicle is the way to go. Car rental companies will meet you or leave the cars for your collection at the airport if you wish.
There are plenty of hire car companies from which to choose and we can provide a recommendation if required.
However, taxis are always available and are reasonably priced.

"This villa is ideal if you want a relaxing holiday in a beautiful environment tucked away from the hustle and bustle of a busy city. If you dont drive you will definitely have to get taxis if you want to explore outside of Mandria as public transport is scarce. The cab drivers are full of useful information about Cyprus. The villa itself is well maintained and looked even better then the pictures. The owners have gone to great lengths to ensure as many quiet nights in as you fancy with a wide variety of games, music and DVDs to cater for anyones taste. (Definitely check out Clockwise its an absolute classic). You will find pretty much everything you need and assistance for any problems is only a phone call away. If you prefer to be left alone youre offered complete privacy. The location is within easy reach of shops, restaurants and a beach. The beach isnt sandy but still beautiful and only a short walk away. The surrounding area is like something on a postcard. If you want to go further a field the motorway will lead you as far as you wish to go. The owners are very friendly and helped us a great deal with our booking when we had problems due to the volcanic ash. We didnt want to leave and hoped to be back again very soon. Would definitely recommend this villa to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful country of Cyprus." Harris from London.

The air conditioning keeps the villa cool and is certainly needed in summer, as when we were there the temperature regularly reached 45 degrees. The pool is glorious, surrounded by beautiful gardens and regularly cleaned. The roman steps into the pool are great for kids. Mandria is quiet and peaceful with a couple of decent restaurants - although Paphos is so close theres always a wide choice of places to eat and drink.
