The Central England / Cotswolds / Worcestershire region
Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye. And if all that touring leaves you thirsty, lashings of Herefordshire cider should do the trick!
The Malvern / Castlemorton area
Visitors are drawn to the village for its fine looking 12th century church and its close proximity to the attractions and amenities of some charming historic towns including Malvern, Tewkesbury and Ledbury. These towns, which are situated close to the borders of Herefordshire and Worcestershire, are characterised by their unusual and striking black and white houses, their hospitable old inns, good restaurants and interesting shops. Upton-on-Severn, which offers welcoming pubs, a picturesque marina, a riverside location and regular boat trips, is also close by. Stunning countryside is all around here, and there is an abundance of historic buildings and gardens, fascinating museums, castles, and railways within easy touring distance.

Guestbook for 1767 - Rickyard Cottage
The location was excellent with a lot of walking nearby. The owners made us feel very welcome and explained what was what within the cottage and area very well. Although to hand if needed they were not intrusive at all. The facilities the cottage had made it feel like a home from home, especially after a good days walking. The off road parking was really nice given that cattle and sheep had free movement around the local area. All in all a very nice place to go on holiday and chill out!

,The conservatory was a lovely room to relax in and enjoy the sun and the garden. The outside decked area was a lovely addition to the cottage, it was great that everything was on one level, and our kids loved walking from room to room. It was a lovely touch to receive cake, milk and wine from the owners. The leaflets in the cottage were very informative on things to do in the area.

,Beautiful garden and setting.

,The setting in which the cottage stands is the most picturesque we have ever stayed in, the photos on the website do not do it justice! The conservatory was a real bonus and this led out on to a large decked area with good quality garden furniture. The cottage itself was just what we wanted with everything on one level, with lots of little extras left for us to use like kitchen towel roll, foil, cling-film and a pack of toilet rolls. The owners also left milk and wine in the fridge and a homemade cake, which was a very nice touch. It was such a nice change to have a good information pack with detailed info and lots about the local area, so often this pack is an after thought and very sparse with some out of date leaflets thrown in a drawer!
Overall, a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with friendly owners and we hope to stay again in the future.
