Wind Song is the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate while enjoying the best that the Adirondacks can offer. By the shores of waters considered to be an undiscovered jewel of the Adirondacks, Wind Song is also close to shopping and other attractions that will enhance your stay in the mountains. Nestled in the northern Adirondacks close to NYS Route 30, Wind Song invites you to enjoy a secluded Adirondack retreat while allowing you easy access to Malone (13 miles), the Adirondack Visitor's Interpretive Center at Paul Smith's (19 miles), Titus Mountain Ski Resort (10 miles) and a host of outdoor activities.

Wind Song sits under a stand of grand old white pines on the shore of a small, tranquil pond that flows into the larger Deer River Flow. For the paddler or fisherman, it is a slice of Adirondack heaven. The fishery of Horseshoe Pond and Deer River Flow is a critically important state fishery for several sport species. Birders will find heron, osprey, loons and bald eagles. For a family, it can be a vacation to remember. For the person just looking to get away from it all, it is a quiet retreat from the rush of modern life.

Due to the COVID pandemic, we are restricting the maximum occupancy to 4 people, including children. We are also restricting rentals to week-long rentals only, from Saturday to Saturday. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The camp includes two bedrooms with two twin beds each, a living room with a fold-out couch, and an entertainment center with television, VCR, radio and CD player. The kitchen has standard appliances including refrigerator/freezer, stove and oven, and microwave. The bath has a vanity, toilet and shower. A full-sized water heater provides plenty of hot water. The dining room and office has a full view of the pond. Attached to the dining room is a large screened porch that is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the view. An outbuilding is available for storage during your stay.

As with many Adirondack camps, the greatest attraction is the water. A short paddle will bring you the breathtaking scenery and mountain vistas that Horseshoe Pond affords. A longer one will take you to Deer River Flow, and its magical views. Access for canoes, kayaks and swimming is easy from the grassy beach next to the dock. Canoes and kayaks may be secured safely to the dock. (If you need to rent a canoe for your stay, consider Mac's Canoe Livery in Clear Lake, 30 miles south on Rt. 30.) Motorboats are discouraged. Horseshoe Pond flows into the larger Deer River Flow just downstream from Wind Song; both water bodies have excellent fishing. There is a campground within a few miles with access to the Flow for larger boats.

Pet Policy: Pets are welcome! Dogs must be leashed. If they are allowed to run free, the security deposit will be forfeit. Please pick up any feces. Cats should remain indoors.

Smoking Policy: There is no smoking on the property.

Cleaning Policy: We use a cleaning service which is included within the price of the rental. The service both cleans and disinfects in the cabin before and after your stay. However, guests are asked to treat both the property and cabin with respect during their stay. Please contact us if there are any problems or questions during your stay. We will check and clean the property after your departure.

Garbage Policy: The cleaning service will remove your garbage and recyclables at the end of your stay; however, we ask that each guest separate their recyclables (glass, metal, plastic, paper, cardboard and paperboard), and remove their garbage and recyclables to the white shed when they leave.

Linen Policy: Bed linens and towels are not provided. Blankets and pillows are available.

I am always available by phone or text, and have local maintenance and troubleshooting assistance that I can call on to help if there are any issues with the rental. I am sorry that this renter had some difficulty with their stay at Wind Song. I want my renters to be able to relax deeply into a beautiful Adirondack experience, and I will do everything in my power to make their stay pleasant and enjoyable. Housekeeping: Based on the comments of several guests this year, I have decided to change the service I use to check the property condition for cleanliness, etc. I will use a company specializing in housekeeping with excellent references. This service I will put in place for 2015 and institute a housekeeping fee which will be an up front cost that will include garbage removal. I have long known that garbage removal is a problem especially for our neighbors to the north, and have only recently been able to identify a solution. Seating: Two old metal chairs were placed at the fire pit on the beach. One of these failed during this renter's visit, and I had them removed from the property. Otherwise the seating in the house and the plastic chairs I provide for use outdoors are completely sound. 2014 Garbage Removal Fee: I tried to make my garbage removal fee as visible as possible. The $50 fee was in the rental agreement agreed to by each renter of the property. My $50 fee for garbage removal this year is included in the FAQs on the website, and also in an information packet sent to each renter. Four Wheelers: The use of four-wheelers by other property owners along the road is not something that I can control, and I do appreciate how it can detract from having an enjoyable stay.

How do damage deposits work?
