County Cork is the largest county in Ireland, which might help account for the variety of terrain, customs, activities and quality of foods produced in the area. Different area's within the county are renowned for everything from milk production ( The Golden Vale) to horse training to cheese making!
It's a wonderful location for sporting activities but also for places of natural beauty and is steeped in history and culture. Whatever your chosen interest, whether traditional music, the Irish language, sporting activities or simply a restful break, its all to be found in County Cork
The Mallow area
Mallow is centrally located for everything from historic buildings and stately homes and gardens to activities like golfing, fishing, pony-trekking and horse riding. The town has an excellent tourist office and information centre, genealogy centre, two historic castles, and great bus, rail and road links.
It boasts two weekly food markets for those wishing to avail of the best of local produce, fresh from the producers. And within striking distance of the town are two excellent activity centre's that offer everything from fishing lessons, to archery, kayaking to Zorbing and Zip lining! There's a choice of equestrian centre's and for those of us preferring less challenging activities there's everything from Liscarrol Donkey Sanctuary, Cork Racecourse Mallow and Anne's Grove Gardens. Of course during the summer months there's road bowling on Sunday afternoon's and on Sunday evenings there's the wonderful old tradition of dancing at the crossroads at Laharn. All this and so much more to do!

My Mother, my three year old cousin and myself stayed here in Nov 12. The little one arrived to a teddy on his bed, which was a lovely present from Eileen. There was a lovely area for him to play out in and feed the birds. Perfect accomadation for my mother who is disabled as it is all on one level with a walk in shower. Great location to travel all over Cork. Modern, warm cottage great for having family come visit us. Would go back again :-D |

We found the cottage very easyly after arriving in ireland. The owener contacted us in time to regulate the details of our arrival. Eileen was very kind and gave us many travel-tips. She helped us immediately whenever there was any question or problem. The Cottage was very nice- it was clean and the facility was good. We really enjoyed our holiday and would rent this cottage again. |
