The Istria region
Istria is indeed a feast for the eyes. Its streams flow to the sea through deep valleys and gullies which bring to mind the ancient local myths about giants. Rolling hills overlook the fields and valleys with little towns perched on the peaks, recalling some old paintings. The view is splendid: white-topped mountains, lush wheat fields, plateaux, valleys, vineyards and olive groves on hillsides, and, finally the sea.
Malinska area
Malinska is pictoresque turist resort situated on the western shore of the island. Once famous for it's piers and ships as a safe harbour, today is a tourist location that keeps it's fishermen and naval heritage. Malinska has been one of the most popular holiday destinations on Krk for the last hundred years. Secluded from windy gusts it is attractive any time of the year, and thus attempts were made to turn it into a health resort.
On the long promenades, such as the paradise path, visitors will discover untouched nature and secluded beaches. But there is entertainment also, especially within the tourist centres and fishing villages.
Malinska is equaly attractive throughout the year, in all four season. From the swimming pools, sand beaches or silent estuaries, it offers choices for everyone's taste, wheather it's a sun bathing under the beautiful sky or resting in shades of pine trees, the choice is yours.
