Home description
Elena House has one large swimming pool and a children’s pool all surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Blessed by the coastal monsoons all year round, the Villa provides an ideal setting for a holiday in paradise. The Villa is well situated for fishing, and diving excursions, wildlife safaris and of course the history of Malindi town, a small fishing village visited by Vasco de Gama in 1498 while sailing the waters off the East African coast. All the beaches are surrounded by reefs and lagoons, where the clear waters of the Indian Ocean rarely dip below 27 degrees centigrade and team with an abundance of tropical fish and corals.
Excursions, transfers, chauffer and self-drive car hire during your stay can be arranged subject to adequate notice being given.

The Kenyan Coast region
“The Kenya Coast, where lie a ribbon of lagoons, sandy white beaches, all fringed with Palms and Casuarina trees and strung together like pearls on a string, offers tranquillity, peace and relaxation, the ideal setting for a holiday in paradise.”
The Kenya Coast is serviced by Mombasa, the coastal gateway to East Africa, situated some 500 km South East of Nairobi. Both cities are well serviced with frequent international and domestic flights with good onward connections to the beach resorts situated in and around the North and South Coasts of Mombasa, Malindi, Watamu and Lamu.
Most of the Kenyan Coastal Resorts offer a diverse range of activities, where there is something for all. For the Cultural experience, the Kenya coast nestles in myriads of culture dating as far back as the 12th Century, the numerous game parks, lodges and forest reserves allow for safaris to be arranged at short notice, or you can just relax .............and................. watch the world go by.
Kenya offers some of the finest beaches unparalleled in the world, fringed with Palm and Casuarina trees, Mangroves, the whitest of sands and lagoons abundant with tropical fish and corals. Our equatorial coastline is the home to numerous species of wildlife and crustaceans as well as being a main breeding ground for the Hawks Bill turtle. Many of the Kenyan beaches are protected as nature reserves and national parks.
Weather conditions on the Kenyan coast are ideal. Although the summer months of December and January can be quite hot, the average monthly temperatures rarely exceed 30 degrees centigrade.
Malindi / Casuarina area
Malindi town is situated 160km North East of Mombasa on a good road, where the area is well served with frequent flights from Nairobi and Mombasa. Malindi is one of the major beach resorts in Kenya and boasts some of the best beaches in the world. The Old Malindi Town continues to be shrouded in mystic and history, dating back well over 800 years, where it is believed, the old port of Malindi, was one of the main trading gateways between the East Coast of Africa, Arabia and Asia. Malindi town itself is believed to have been visited by Arabs from Oman during the early 12th Century. Malindi continues to portray the quaintness of a small fishing village and is catered for well with markets, boutique shops, supermarkets, casinos, discoteques, hotels and resorts.
Malindi is used as a base for those wishing to explore the coastline, which is engulfed in a multitude of marine parks, tropical rain forest reserves and national parks. Most of the wildlife parks will have the more exotic game that Kenya has to offer, which includes elephant, buffalo, rhino, lion, cheetah and the illusively shy leopard.
Diving is available at most of the resorts on Kenyas North coast. Under supervision divers are given the opportunity of diving on wrecks, with the dolphins and in the numerous coral gardens, which border the coastline and are abundant with tropical marine life.
Malindi is also renowned for some of the best deep-sea fishing in the world, where anglers have the opportunity of catching Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna and a number of other exotic species of fish that frequent the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean. Fishing is booked through the resorts and registered fishing clubs, all of whom have licensed boats for day charters and even night charters for the more adventurous Swordfish anglers.
Excursions and flights can be arranged through registered travel agents located within the Malindi town, who will be pleased to arrange private guided tours, flights and accommodation at the wildlife lodges. Activities that include diving, sailing, deep-sea fishing, kite surfing, windsurfing and many other leisure sports can be arranged through the local beach resorts and hotels.
