The apartment, set on the 9th floor in a building with lift, is located just a few meters from Malagueta beach and offers a unique opportunity to discover Malaga in the very best way; combining your city break with a beach holiday.

The apartment is situated in a corner with two terraces. It has been completely renovated in 2011 and comprises of a living room with a fully fitted open-plan kitchen, dining table, flat screen TV, sofa and a bathroom with shower, washing machine and towel warmer. There is access from the living room to the terrace overlooking Malagueta beach and Gibralfaro Castle

When visiting the province of Malaga and the Costa del Sol, we recommend that you stop off in Nerja, Gibraltar, Marbella, Ronda, Granada and the skiing resort of the Sierra Nevada, which is just one hours drive from the beaches of the Costa del Sol.


Malaga is located on the Costa del Sol in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia. The city has a rich cultural heritage, dating back to 800BC, over the centuries it has been occupied by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans and Moors. Since tourism came to the Malaga region, most foreign visitors have literally stepped off the plane at Malaga and headed directly for one of the seaside resorts along the Costa del Sol, but this is changing; in recent years Malaga has an undergone a rehabilitation program that has restored many of its cultural attractions and monuments to their former glory, firmly putting Malaga back on the tourist map.

The city of Malaga perfectly combines culture, history, beach, cuisine and nightlife. The city is the birthplace of Picasso and his mark is etched on the city; visit the Picasso Museum, or the House of Picasso, where you can learn more about the maestro himself and enjoy his works of art. Malaga also has a strong Moorish influence and there are many monuments and buildings, including the Alcazaba Fortress and Gibralfaro Castle. If you want to savour the best cuisine of southern Spain, then we recommend Malaga City, where the best tapas and seafood restaurants on the coast can be found, whatsmore you will be eating with the locals, not with other tourists.

Malaga beach, or La Malagueta, is a beautiful stretch of golden sand, backed by a clean promenade and some lovely chiringuitos (beach bars). One of the best things about Malaga is the size; you can easily get around by foot, but you also have the luxury of being able to catch the bus, train, or tourist bus in the city.

"You can walk to train, bus town & beach from this property"

Great location. The flat is compact but beds comfortable, it is well equipped and very clean. The local supermarket is only a few steps away and stays open for long periods. The bathroom is compact but again clean and has everything you need, good value for money. We visited in March so out of season and a lot of the restaurants around were closed. You really can walk to the town bus and train station while the beach is only a few yards away.

"Beautiful newly renovated apartment in the Malagueta area"

This beautiful, newly renovated apartment is located in the Malagueta area
of Malaga. Offering a fantastic view to the beach, Muelle Uno harbour area,
Malaga Cathedral and Gibralfaro.
The apartment, set on the 9th floor (with lift), is located just a few
metres from Malagueta beach. A superb holiday rental providing a unique
opportunity to discover Malaga in the very best way; combining your city
break with a beach holiday. The apartment situated in a corner with two terraces. It has has been completely renovated and comprises: large living room with dining table, flat screen TV, sofa and access to the terrace overlooking Malagueta beach and Gibralfaro, fully fitted and equipped open-plan kitchen, one bedroom with double bed or two single beds with wardrobe, second double bedroom with wardrobe and access to a terrace with views to Malaga Cathedral and the Muelle Uno Port, and finally a nice bathroom with shower and washing machine. And there is also access to the internet in the apartment via an USB stick.

"Great location between the beach and port, super-clean and comfortable."

At first I wasn't sure about booking (the photos don't really do the apartment justice) but I was very pleased to find that "in person" the apartment is adorable, very bright and super-clean. When the agent met me at the apartment he said that people have sometimes joked that the place feels like being in an IKEA showroom, but to me that was exactly what made the apartment feel and look so fresh and clean.

Both bedrooms have two single beds (mine was VERY comfortable) and tons of cupboard space. Lots of hangers, extra pillows and blankets, an alarm clock, bedside tables with reading lamps, clothing racks for drying laundry. I think the thing that kept surprising me was how well-thought out everything was and I kept finding nice little touches, like city maps and playing cards in the table drawers. The open kitchen is well-equipped with high-quality appliances (Bosch, Whirlpool). I liked that there's not only an electric kettle and coffee maker (with a good supply of filters in the cupboard), but also an espresso maker. And the two-burner ceramic stove-top, microwave oven and full-sized fridge are more than adequate for holiday cooking needs. Very conveniently, there is a good supermarket, greengrocer and pharmacy just across the street. The only negative I could find was that the bathroom might feel a bit small with four adults sharing as the washing machine is also in there, but it was okay for two and I'm sure would also be fine for a family.

Double-glazed windows and balcony doors keep out the noise, though I know from previous visits to Malaga that this area isn't particularly noisy, even at peak season. There are two terraces, one off the larger bedroom, the other off the livingroom with comfy terrace furniture. And it's so bright and cheerful. This is probably the thing I loved best (along with it being so clean and - very important for me - having super fast and free WiFi). Nice partial views of the mountains and the sea and Malagueta beach is a two-minute walk from the front door of the building. There are also lots of great tapas bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood, and the newly revamped harbourfront, Muelle Uno, is just another two minute walk in the other direction. It's about a ten-minute walk to the old centre through Malaga park, making it a perfect location for getting everywhere you want to on foot.
