This property has prime location in the new Bayview development on Lagada Bay which provides superior self catering accommodation.
The apartment comprises a double bedroom with double bed, a single bedroom and an Italian designed double sofa bed in the lounge area. There is a fully fitted open plan kitchen including electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer.
Eat al fresco on the spacious balcony overlooking the swimming pool with waterfall feature and landscaped gardens, and take in the spectacular views of the bay opposite and surrounding mountains.
Air conditioned with bed linen and towels included (there are also beach towels for your use), and supported by site management who can assist with all your needs from restaurants and tavernas to places of interest to visit, this is a high amenity setting for a relaxing holiday in tranquil surroundings.
There is plenty of car-parking and the property is only 200 metres from the unspoilt Lagada Beach and a short distance from the centre of Makrigialos with numerous tavernas, bars, cafes and a blue flag beach offering a wide range of water sports.

50% deposit payable with booking. Balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
A 75 Euro security deposit is required to be left with Site Manager for duration of the holiday and will be returned on departure if no breakages or damage has occurred.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Payments over and above the deposit are refundable as follows:
More than 8 weeks before arrival 90%; 5 weeks - 75%; 3-4 weeks - 50%; 2 weeks - 25%; 1 weeks - Sorry no refund.

The Crete region


The most southerly island of Europe and the largest in Greece, Crete enjoys one of the best climates in Europe with more than 300 days of sunshine every year, and sea temperatures that allow swimming from its southern shores as early as April and as late as November.
The people are hospitable and friendly. The scenery is spectacular with rugged limestone mountains rising steeply, and azure seas off rocky coasts. Carved into this landscape are idyllic coves and beaches. And there is a rich history and culture to be discovered with archaeological sites spread across the island.
The Makrigialos area
Situated in the south east of Crete, Makrigialos, (meaning long beach and awarded the blue flag), is an unspoilt resort with a particular attraction for those looking for an authentic flavour of Cretan life. The evenings come alive with numerous tavernas and bars serving delicious food from local produce with the fish dishes particularly recommended. Fridays see the village hosting a street market.
Daily boat trips to Lefki or Koufonisia run from the harbour. Makrigialos is well known for hosting the prestigious Casa Dei Mezzo music festival with musicians coming from all over the world. The nearby village of Agios Stefanos is home to the Sasteria public observatory with 4 telescopes at your disposal for you to observe the heavens.
Close by are the towns of Lerapetra and Sitia, both good for shopping, and the latter with a particularly lovely marina. The drive to Sitia through the mountains beautifully illustrates by remote monasteries, quaint churches, beehives on hillsides and lovely villages what is so attractive about this area.
Within 15 minutes drive of Makrigialos is the village of Pefki, one of the many beautiful mountain villages, steeped in history, with narrow winding streets, and beautifully stone houses covered in geraniums, bougainvillea, and vines and dotted with rustic tavernas serving traditional Greek food. Well worth a Sunday evening visit!
A wide range of water sports are available including scuba diving, fishing, sailing etc. There is also a Go-Kart centre within 20 minutes drive.

We had a lovely holiday in this apartment at Bayview. The accommodation and site was of a very high standard and the apartment has an excellent balcony with views of the sea and mountains. It is an ideal size for a couple. We would find it a little small for four adults. We enjoyed the area very much - Makrigialos has lots of lovely reasonable restaurants and a good sandy beach which has the warmest sea I have been in in the Greek Islands. The Green Beach and Taverna is a must - the food there is lovely and typically Greek. We didn't hire a car and instead used the local buses. The trip from the airport was easy and cost only 11 euros. The bus stop was just across the road from the arrivals area at the airport and we had about an half hour wait. The journey took about two hours to Irepetria but gave you lovely views of Crete. We had an hours wait in Irepetria for the local bus to Makrigialos but there is a cafe at the bus station so that was no problem. Alternatively you can get a taxi from Irepetria to Bayview, which we did on the way home, for about 37 Euros. All the bus times are available on line. It is a pleasant 25 minute walk along the road from the apartment to Makrigialos, however, it does involve some moderate hills so if you are less able you would need to drive. Response: This guest took the unusual step of using public transport - and found it very acceptable in getting both to and from the airport and around the island. "Upon our arrival at the apartments we were met with professional care and courtesy. Fresh fruit and provisions had been placed in our apartment to ensure that we had everything needed to make us feel welcomed and relaxed.
The apartment is very attractive, recently built with a modern appearance, the complex is maintained to a very high standard and has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, ideally suited for couples or families alike. It had everything we needed... modern appliances, excellent air conditioning, clean bathroom and shower facilities as well as internet connection.
We never found ourselves stuck for something to do. This was a holiday that we will never forget, we were captivated by the island and the apartment proved far more than a satisfactory base from which we were able to enjoy and explore Crete from. Highly recommended!" David & Yvonne
"We had a lovely holiday at your apartment in Bayview. We really enjoyed staying there and thought the accommodation and site was of a very high standard. We spent many hours sitting on the lovely balcony enjoying the sunsets with a glass of wine! We liked the area very much. Enjoyed Makriyialos and beach (the Pub proved very useful for watching the rugby!), the Green Beach - the taverna there was lovely, and we also enjoyed using the local buses which we always find fun on Greek Islands. All in all we had a very good holiday with wall to wall sunshine. Unfortunately it was back to commuting on Wednesday which was a bit of a come down!" Jenny
