About the home

Villa D’Este nestles into the wonderful and most prestigious parts of Mahon, overlooking the harbor compete with the most outstanding views. The Villa benefits from a huge open terrace leading to a large pool with plenty of shade and comes complete with its own bar and barbeque area. Five bedrooms over three floors allows families to have their own space while also being able to share a huge terrace for entertaining, the two principal bedrooms also have their own terrace.

Cala Rata bay is one of the best locations on the island, its very peaceful and yet is only 15 min from Mahon.
20 Min by car for the airport.

The main living area of the villa opens up completely to the pool terrace which is on a double plot.

The space outside is excellent because of the large area, but the house also has 3 extra terraces so you can have privacy if you need it.

We are a family of Artists and Designers and the terraces provide wonderful scope for
painting. Your family will love it!

There is a shaded area by the pool with a treasure trove of colourful, exotic climbers and shrubs.

There are some steps going down from the main terrace to the next level and also from the Rd to reach the villa.

The Menorca region

Minorca is a magnificent island, and offers a great variety of Mediterranean landscapes where exclusive species of the island cohabit. An authentic reservation of beauty where we can let ourselves go among surprising sensations offered by the Albufera Natural Park ( a paradise for migrating birds, fish and reptiles), five natural reservations, a marine reserve and nineteen A.N.E.I. areas (Natural Areas with Species of Interest). reminding us that the island holds an uncountable number of beaches.

There are beaches for all tastes, from long soft sandy ones to hidden coves where one can bathe in crystal waters. The southern coast is lined with white sands surrounded by pine tree woods and waters, in the majority of areas, with a breathtaking turquoise tone. The north is wilder and sharper due to its erosion provoked by the tramontana wind over the rocks, giving way to idyllic beaches and virgin coves, as by nature's fancy.

The presence of the posidonia, an endemic Mediterranean seaweed, along the Minorcan coast is the best sign indicating the good health of the beaches.

The Mahon / Cala Rata Bay area

The sunny streets fill with people during the town's Equine Fiesta. In a test of skill, riders dressed in tails perform the traditional jaleo, encouraging their horses to rear up on their hind legs among the crowds.

The jaleo is one of several skills practised by the riders, or caixers, of the island. Over 50 riders compete for the sought-after titles of caixer senyor, caixer pagesos and caixer menestral.

The festival is dedicated to Saint Louis IX, the town's patron. The Saturday features an opening ceremony, followed by a horse race in the afternoon and a concert in the evening. On Sunday the competition begins again and lasts all day.

All weekend there are other celebrations such as a parade of giants and market stalls. On the Sunday night, the festival finishes off with a firework display.
