Stunning and romantic, this grade 2 listed, detached stone cottage is located in the picturesque village of Maentwrog, in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. Beautifully renovated and refurbished, within walking distance to the village pub / restaurant and central to Porthmadog (7 miles), Harlech (9 miles) and numerous other prime attractions. From the Jacuzzi air-bath to the ceiling shower, from under floor heating and woodburner to a king size bed and Egyptian cotton bedding, everything about this cottage spells cosy, romantic and special.

Spacious open plan living room / kitchen, with exposed stonework and beams. Underfloor heating and woodburner that provide all the warmth and comfort you need.

Living room with comfortable leather sofa's, dining table, flat-screen TV with freesat and DVD.

Beautiful fully fitted oak kitchen with granite worktops. Built in dishwasher, fridge and freezer, induction hob and oven, microwave, toaster and kettle.

Ground floor bedroom with King size bed, down duvet and Egyptian cotton bedding. Flat-screen TV with freesat and DVD. Underfloor heating

Relaxing Deluxe bathroom with jacuzzi / air-bath, wet room shower (ceiling and hand held head). Electric underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Set of towels provided (Egyptian

The North Wales region

Ysgoldy is located in the picturesque village of Maentwrog which is nestled in the woodland hills in the Vale of Ffestiniog. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the heart of Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, North Wales.

Maentwrog is a central location between the castle town of Harlech with it's beautiful white sandy beach and World Heritage Site & the harbour town of Porthmadog and Black Rock sands with 3 miles of sandy beach. Blaenau Ffestiniog slate quarry town is 5 miles away with Antur Stiniog's brand new biking centre. Coed y Brenin's world acclaimed forest trail & walking centre is near Dolgellau, 9 miles away.

The village pub / restaurant (Grapes Hotel) is a 2 minute walk from the cottage and the Oakley Arms is also within 10 minutes. Other good places to eat in the area including Brondanw Arms in Llanfrothen, The Plas Restaurant in Harlech and Portmeirion Hotel & Restaurant in Minffordd. The nearest grocery etc can be found in Penrhyndeudraeth, 4 miles from your luxury cottage, Snowdonia.

There are wonderful walks from the doorstep with breathtaking scenery, rivers and waterfalls at Coed Llyn Mair near the Ffestiniog railway halt in Maentwrog (Raven Falls / Llyn y Gwynryn / Rhaeadr Ddu). Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway Steam Train travels through forested and mountainous scenery from the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog to the harbour at Porthmadog and from Porthmadog to Caernarfon Castle Town.

Other prime attractions in the area include Portmeirion Italianate Village (5 miles), Llechwedd Slate mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog and Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. Harlech Castle's Word Heritage Site is another must see during your stay at Ysgoldy. Snowdonia has plenty to offer on the activity front as well, including Go Ape at Coed y Brenin and the following range of activities, all within a 20 minute drive...
