The Koh Samui region
Koh Samui island is Thailand's third largest island. It's close to the mainland Surat Thani town. It is rich with natural resources, white sandy beaches, coral reefs and coconut trees.Koh Samui has only two seasons, Samui's rainy season lasts from October to December, and the dry season is from January-February to October.
Maenam offers spectacular views of Ko Phangan to the North, and the Ang Thong National Marine Park to the East. The waters are calm and clean and the beach much less crowded than Lamai or Chaweng.
Maenam's restaurants and bars still retain much of the local Thai flavor. Overall Maenam is quieter, more relaxed, with local Thai community still pretty much intact. The major golf course on the island is also in Maenam.

Make a day trip out to the beautiful Ang Thong National Marine Park by speedboat departing from Maenam beach.
Have breakfast or lunch in the clubhouse of the Santiburi Golf Course with breathtaking views over the Island.
Have dinner in the local restaurants and enjoy the local Thai flavor!

Bangkok Airways operates Bangkok-Samui, Samui-Phuket, Samui-Pattaya (U-Tapao), Samui-Krabi, Samui-Hong Kong and Samui-Singapore flights. From Samui there is a daily flight to Hong Kong and this makes the Island the ideal base from which to visit other popular locations within the Far East. You can book online or through an agent. Thai Airways also have two flights a day from Bangkok to Samui. You also can fly to Surat Thani on the mainland with Air Asia and Nok Air.
You can get a shuttle bus or taxi to the ferry terminal at Donsak (about 1 hour transfer) followed by a ferry journey to the Island.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Villa Decor. The property is in a beautiful location and is delightfully furnished and maintained. The pool is serviced daily and is in our opinion much more that just a lap pool. The photos shown on the website are indeed a true reflection of the villa. We could not fault the staff from the management company. Any requests (arranging transport, motor bike hire etc) were dealt with promptly and efficiently. On our arrival at approximately 8.30 pm we were greeted by the management staff who even undertook to shop for essentials to get us through the first night. The only drawback we experienced during our stay was none of the locals including taxi drivers knew the location of the villa. We feel it would be beneficial for future guests to be provided with a leaflet written in Thai to present to taxi drivers etc detailing the location of the villa. Overall we had an extremely enjoyable and relaxing stay at Villa Decor and would highly recommend it to other travellers. Response: Thank you so much for your nice review!
