Baan Tan Ta Wan is a privately owned villa managed by the Samran Gardens team. It is available for rental on a self catering basis, to allow individuals and families who do not want the restrictions of hotel living, and wish to have greater space, more peaceful and more private surroundings, and more flexible catering arrangements, either eating in local restaurants, or arranging their own food in the villa.
Please note that the villa is in a peaceful part of the island, away from the party scene in Chaweng. It is not recommended for people who come to Samui to enjoy the party scene, as the roads can be difficult late at night.
The accommodation consists of a spacious, open plan living/dining /kitchen, comfortably furnished, with modern furniture and Asian art work, and boasts a dining table for 4, together with an up to date fitted kitchen with granite work tops, and generous cupboards and work-surfaces. There is a television with DVD player, and a satellite television system, providing a number of European and other channels. Wifi internet is also provided. There is a range of comfortable seating inside, and further seating on the terrace, which leads directly off the living area. A further 4 seat table on the terrace provides the facility for alfresco dining. There are three bedrooms, with the master boasting a king size bed, and en suite bathroom. There is also a DVD player and screen in this bedroom. The second bedroom and third bedrooms are of generous proportions, and both contain double beds and share a second bathroom. All bedrooms are air conditioned
The swimming pool is situated in the middle of the private villa gardens, and is overlooked by a sala, which provides the perfect place for that sun-downer!!
The Holiday Rates are subject to an additional 10 % Service & cleaning charge, this will be clearly shown in the official quote for you, along with the costs for the airport transfer service if required.
The Holiday Rates include the following:
* Villa cleaning service & bed linen changes every 4/5 th day. (with the exception of Sundays).
* Guest towels are provided at the start of the holiday and changed as above.
* Wireless Internet (Laptop required)
* True Visions T.V satellite service.
* All electric and water costs. (unless stated otherwise).
* 1 x Baby Cot and 1 x High chair.
* The villas pool and gardens are serviced by the on site management team.
A Complimentary welcome pack is provided on arrival comprising of:
* Coffee sachets, tea bags, sugar and creamer sachets.
* A chilled bottle of drinking water for each guest.
* Tea towels are provided at the start of the booking. (please launder as required in the villas washing machine, during your stay).
A detailed guests information folder is provided with a range of local info and suggestions, as well as a through orientation to the villa itself and site services.
The villa is available on a self catering basis only, so it is important to consider this prior to reservation:
Please note we do not provide the following services:
* Pre ordered Groceries, food and beverage supplies (with the exception of the welcome pack) There are 2 large supermarkets within 20 minutes drive of the villa which stock a wide range of items as well as a local 7 – 11 (open 24 hrs).
* Cooks/chefs, daily maids, nannies, chauffeurs, babysitters. (Please note - these services cannot be provided)
* Hair driers and international adapter plugs. (Please bring with you - Voltage is 240 V)
Please note there is no barbecue at the villa.
Hire Car Service
A hire car will be needed as the villa is not located on a main taxi route. (It is advised to reserve your car at the time of the villa booking - no funds are deducted until the car is delivered).
Full arrangements can be made through us to have your car delivered to your villa upon arrival. (full insurance included).
A wide range of fully insured vehicles are available with baby seats, automatic transmission is standard.
Please note, that due to the peaceful atmosphere and tranquil setting of the development that this villa is situated within, bookings are only accepted from families and couples looking for a relaxing and quiet holiday within their own villa. The privacy of all neighbors is asked to be respected.
The management make every effort to ensure that all guest's and home owners privacy is not invaded or disrupted.
The terms of payment are as follows:
Upon confirming the reservation a deposit of 30 % of the total figure incl. the service charge is required to secure the booking.
The balance of the booking is required 8 weeks prior to arrival.
The Villa Payment Options are as follows:
1. Paypal - (subject to applied Paypal fees) An invoice will be manually sent upon confirmation of the reservation.
2. Transfer to our U.K account - Lloyds TSB
2. Bank transfer to our Siam Commercial Thai bank account in Koh Samui.

The Koh Samui region
Koh Samui is Thailand's jewel in the Gulf of Thailand. With beautiful beaches, often with palm trees in the beach giving shade, and excellent views of other islands, the island is regarded as a premier resort. It lies close to the Angthong Marine Park, where trips can be arranged, and close to the island of Koh Phangan, the original setting of the novel The Beach. The central hills provide superb views over the coast and the marine park, and there are lots to see on this small island. The dining facilities are second to none, ranging from chic and expensive, to cheap tasty, locally cooked Thai food. A great choice for an exciting but relaxing holiday, unspoilt by the tawdriness of other major Thai resorts.

Located approx 2.3 km's from the village of Maenam (this is a 5 minute car or scooter ride or around a 20 minutes stroll) on the north shore of Koh Samui, and has views over the natural scenery of Thailand, with coconut groves, and unspoilt hillsides.
The gardens of the project and the individual villas are all maintained to a high standard, and provide a lush backdrop to living in the villa. Further up the soi the unspoilt hillsides for which Samui is famous, can be seen from the sala and from the front door of the villa.
The local points of interest include Fisherman's Village in Bophut providing more sophisticated eateries around 4km away, and the major tourist destination of Chaweng with its large selection of nightlife around 8km away. Angela's, famous for its breakfasts, and home cooking and baking is just over 2 km away.
Maenam itself offers a selection of shops, restaurants, spas and bars, of a more relaxed kind, together with massage, and dining, on the beach. Convenience stores and ATM's can be found in Maenam, whereas the two large supermarkets can be found around 6km away.
An assortment of restaurants ranging from Italian and Greek to traditional Thai, and more gastronomic meals can be had at the Santi Buri Hotel and Zazen Boutique Hotel, both of which employ celebrated European Chefs to head their kitchens. Other high end restaurants operate in Bophut, Cheong Mon and Chaweng, so all tastes are happily catered for.
A number of establishments offer spa and beauty facilities, and it is also possible to obtain a massage directly on the beach. We can also arrange for a massage in the privacy of your own villa. The 4 km long beach is long and wide and gently shelving, with clear water, and not so crowded as the more popular destinations but offers good swimming, and wonderful views of its sister island, Koh Phangan.
The hotels and restaurants along the beach tend to be smaller, family run businesses, although there are also some 5 star hotels in the vicinity. The emphasis is strictly on the natural beauty and tranquility of the area, and trips to the Marine National Park, for diving, snorkeling, and kayaking can be arranged, as well as trips around the island, mountain safaris, elephant trekking and descending on cables through the canopy of the natural rainforest.
Courses in Thai cooking, and massage are also available. And at the end of the day enjoy a swim in your own pool, and a drink on the terrace. The Championship standard Santiburi Golf Course and Country Club is around 10 minutes drive away, and offers temporary membership to visitors. Set in spectacular surroundings this venue has hosted a number of international tournaments.
