About the home

Wonderful apartment in historical centre of Madrid. Very near Plaza de España, Gran Vía, Palacio Real, but very quiet. Metro and bus 50 m., Theatres, cines, restaurants, etc very near as well. Recently reformed. Nice for families, friends and couples. It's just in the centre of the city. Metro and bus very near aswell

The Madrid region

Culturally, we have a lot of museum like El Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia, Sorolla, Caixa forum, etc. Madrid is also. Madrid is also a great place to go shopping. You can buy old Spanish arts and furniture in "El Rastro" and fashion cloths in Comercial Centre or little shop in Serrano, Velazquez, etc. There are e lot of musicals and theatres and flamenco scene with the traditional flamenco of the south.

But the best is walk by the street, sit at the bars outdoors open at night

Its great transportation network makes getting around to any place you wish easy and quick.

The Madrid City / Plaza Espana area

The most important theatres in Madrid are in Gran Vía and many shops.

You can walk until Palacio Real and see the wonderful sunset from many bars outsite like "El Ventorrillo"

If you like Opera in front of the Palacio Real is the Real Theatre where there are Operas many days.

Around the Plaza Mayor there are a lot of typical restaurants where you'll taste the specialities of Madrid like stew, corns, lamb and many bars where to take lids(snacks) or a glass in the night.

We have extensive experience in renting apartments for a week or more. We found this apartment quite adequate with modern utilities. The proprietors are very pleasant and helpful. The location is excellent, closeby there is a dry cleaner, pharamacy, and muliple food stores, not to mention shops, restaurants, and tapas bars. Easy walk to old Madrid. A Metro stop around the corner. We would recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to expore Madrid and have all the conveniences at their doostep.

Details: This apartment is very charming, beautifully designed, and very well maintained. The children especially loved the loft, which they used as their own living room. The lovely and Plaza Dos de Mayo is within easy walking distance as are numerous shops and cafes. A traditional market around the corner offers delicious produce, etc. at exceptionally good prices. There is a metro stop around the corner as well, allowing easy access to all of Madrid. The owners were gracious, friendly, and helpful. We certainly will look to this home away from home again when we return to Madrid. Waller-Whelan family, USA.
