Music is all around. El Pentagrama is a 35 m2 apartment with one bedroom, a complete bathroom with a shower and a living-dining room-kitchen, all surrounded by a significant collection of old instruments, original scores and musical details. Its large windows provide plenty of light and overlook the inside courtyard where, in addition to the balconies full of plants and flowers, the original well and basin are still preserved.
The combination of the pink kitchen and the white and grey walls helps to separate the different atmospheres of this musical space. The comfortable striped sofa is the perfect spot to watch the LCD TV screen. The space is surrounded by a wide variety of wind instruments, including several very particular pieces, such as a Muslim and a Tibetan horn used for calling to prayer.
A copy of the first stave of the wonderful "Ciaccona of the Partita in D minor for Violin no. 2, BWV 1004" by J. S. Bach, together with a chaise lounge in the style of Le Corbusier specially made for El Pentagrama, create a relaxing spot for reading or resting.
On the opposite side of the corridor, a metallic desk gives way to the main bedroom, which includes a 150x200 cm. bed with high quality bed linen. The headboard is made of original staves and the nightstands are actually an Indian drum and a Sufi meditation bench.
The apartment has a complete bathroom with a shower in a cheerful pistachio shade. The kitchen, located right at the entrance, includes a comfortable metallic bar with two stools and is fully equipped, thus providing the opportunity to enjoy a home cooked meal at any time.
El Pentagrama gives the privilege of enjoying a unique collection of instruments donated by the writer and music critic Chema García Martínez.
Dreaming of music
Five lines, four spaces.
A world of sounds, of silences.
The music of a dream.
The dream of immortality.
The musical piece, once conceived, doesn't exist beside itself.
The only thing that is left is the memory of it.
The stave is waiting for someone to bring it to life
(Chema García Martínez)
