EL ESTUDIO DE LOS LIBROS OLVIDADOS
The studio is situated on the first floor of a modern, well-kept building that carefully respects tradition. The staircase banister is the original piece from the 18th century.
The bookshelf of “forgotten books” separates the lounge area from the bedroom. A comfortable sofa with geometric design contrasts with the curvy lines of the centre table, full of books, and with the red table designed by A.Medina.
The bedroom is fitted with a comfortable 135cm x 195cm bed, and all bed and bath linen are of high quality.
The kitchen is equipped with all appliances and kitchenware and integrates nicely with the dining room.
The apartment has a reinforced high security door, video intercom and doorman service. Non smoking apartment.
High chair and cot available on demand.
We find it most attractive to be surrounded by books on art, photography and design.
In this studio, guests can forget their books… this is why it is called the Studio of Forgotten Books, inspired by the novel “The Shadow of the Wind” by C. Ruiz Zafón. Estancias con Arte participates in the book-crossing movement in the belief that sharing books with generosity is an enriching gesture. Check bookcrossing.com
Also worthy of note are two original photographs by the portuguese artist J.A. Malato de Souza.

The Madrid region
he Literary Quarter is famous for its literary history… but most of all for being in the heart of Madrid.
To the left of the Studio of Forgotten Books we find the Plaza de Santa Ana, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, with its animated bars, taverns, cafes and restaurants.
Walking all the way down Huertas street on the right hand side we arrive to Paseo del Prado with all the great museums of the Art Triangle (Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofía).
In these entertaining strolls one can see both peculiar traditional shops and attractive designer boutiques.
The Literary Quarter is a pedestrian area, so a car is not really needed. But if we bring one it can be left in the public parking of Plaza de Santa Anta or Plaza Jacinto Benavente which are a scarce 5 minute walk from the Studio of Forgotten Books, at a daily price of €27.
In the Puerta del Sol there is a central transport hub with several subway lines and local trains. The taxi and bus stops in this same plaza allow us to choose our desired form of transport.
