Exclusive to Spain Select, Carretas 202 is one of eight luxury two-bedroom apartments located just off of Madrid's Puerta del Sol. Spain Select Carretas puts Madrid's most important attractions within walking distance. In less than five minutes, visitors can step out of the apartment building and walk directly to the city's famous Plaza Mayor, the centrepiece of what is known as Austrian Madrid. Just beyond the Plaza, visitors can continue walking to the Royal Palace and the Cathedral of the Almudena. The Puerta del Sol is one of the most well-known and busiest places in Madrid. This famous square is where the clock hangs that rings in the New Year in Spain, prompting Spaniards to eat a grape for each of the twelve chimes. Adjacent to the square is the Preciados Shopping District, which includes several buildings of an 'El Corte Ingl?s' department store. Crowded with tourists and locals by day, the area is still lively in the evenings as there are many restaurants, caf?s and bars nearby. Just a short distance away is the Plaza de Santa Ana, where there are many terraces for outdoor dining. As the geographic centre of the city, the Puerta del Sol has excellent metro and bus communications, and the Atocha train station is a 15-minute walk or just three metro stops away. Spain Select Carretas is to all effects a new building, yet it maintains a perfectly restored traditional fa?ade. Carretas 202 is a two-bedroom apartment with high quality fittings and furnishings. It has been professionally decorated and incorporates original artwork. The living room is very bright, thanks to its two balconied windows that overlook the street below, and the light marble floors. Bold burgundy paintwork and matching decorative elements have been employed, providing a nice contrast to the light floors. The two double bedrooms are situated in the interior of the building and are very quiet. Please note that whilst the building has an elevator, there is a small staircase before you reach the lobby.

Surface Area: 70 m2. Second floor. The entrance hall leads into a living / dining area with a balcony facing out onto the street. It is furnished with a 3-seater sofa, a wooden coffee table, a shelving unit with an LCD TV, DVD player and a wooden dining table for four. Along the corridor are two double bedrooms: 1 double bedroom (queen-sized bed 1.60m x 1.90m) and 1 twin bedroom (2 single beds 0.90m x 1.90m). There is a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator / freezer, oven, 4-ring ceramic hob (stove), dishwasher, washing machine and a breakfast bar with two stools. There is an additional half bathroom. There is marble flooring throughout the apartment, except for the bathroom and kitchen, which are tiled.

Starting at the famous Puerta del Sol and heading either north to the Gran V?a or east to the Plaza de Cibeles, the centre of Madrid hums with people at all hours of the day and night. The enormous Puerta del Sol is at the very heart of the capital, and has been used as the city?s traditional meeting spot for both locals and visitors alike for centuries. The busy streets that radiate out from Sol?s centre are all the beginnings of the roads that will eventually lead you to Spain?s other major cities ? each of the country?s six national roads has its humble origins at Kilometre Cero, right in front of the Casa de Correos clock tower. Sol is also home to the statue of the Bear and the Berry Tree, the official emblem of Madrid, and normally surrounded by tourists trying to take photographs. The centre is packed with shops and services, including the large Spanish department store El Corte Ingl?s and a wide selection of both Spanish and international brands including Zara, Mango and H&M.
The pedestrianised streets of Preciados and Carmen head north towards the wide Gran V?a Avenue and are excellent options for those looking to do some serious shopping during their stay. Heading east down the calle de Alcal? brings you past one of Madrid?s oldest cultural and art centres, the C?rculo de Bellas Artes, where you can enjoy a film or art exhibition, or simple grab a coffee in the extraordinarily beautiful caf? and restaurant. The nearby Plaza de Cibeles is home to both the impressive Palacio de las Telecomunicaciones and the elegant Bank of Spain. "Comfortable and convenient to all major sights"
