The Madrid region

There are a lot of museums like El Prado, Thyssen, Reina Sofia, Sorolla, Caixa forum, etc. Gran Via and Serrano streets nearby, are important areas for shopping. On sudays you can walk, enjoy and buy in the "Rastro", an old market .

In any case the best is walk by the street, sit at the bars and enjoy the "tapas"

Thanks to the great transportation network getting around to any place you wish is easy and quick.

Madrid City

The centre of the city is plenty of activity. There are a lot of theatres and musicals. Not far is the pedestrian street Huertas which brings you from the Prado to the Royal Palace. The zone of the Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Royal Palace is full of " bares" and restaurants with typical spanish food.

"Great location in Madrid."

The apartment is well situated in a reasonably quiet street. The location is excellent and you are only a 10 minute walk from great restaurants, museums, metro and the park. The apartment is quiet and is situated right next door to Antonio (the owner) so if you have an issue, he is not far away. As stated in other reviews the bathroom/toilet is down the hall, which might be an issue for some. The wifi kept dropping out also which was a bit of a pain but overall the apartment was comfortable and clean.

"Excellent location and extremely helpful host"

I was quite delighted with my stay in this apartment. My landlord, Antonio, could not have been more helpful and his tips on where to go and where to eat were really good. The apartment was extremely comfortable and I did appreciate the many little extra touches. The fact that the bathroom, which was for my sole use, was not actually in the apartment but along a corridor was a minor inconvenience, easily outweighed by the ease of the journey from the airport and the apartment's location. The Prado was a 5-10 minute stroll away and both metro and buses were within easy reach. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

"Absolutely perfect !"

As other reviewers have indicated : the location of this gorgeous loft apartment couldn't be better. To be able to stroll down to the Prado....or the a dream come true. And having the magnificent Retiro virually on your doorstep - how wonderful is that!! Furnishings and facilities in the studio combined elegance and comfort most successfully! (One tiny adjustment I would suggest, is that the bedroom be rearranged, v easily, with the bed and the desk switching places & thereby allowing increased headroom for getting in and out of tall husband banged his head one too many times & that got me thinking! I meant to suggest it to Antonio before we left & I forgot.) Antonio was a most gracious and welcoming host. We were most grateful for all his wonderfully helpful suggestions. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Madrid if ever we go again.

"Quirky attic apartment"

Thanks to Gonzalez for waiting on us. Our flight arrived after 11p.m. and then we got express bus direct from airport. We got off bus at Plaza Cibeles, then we walked off in search of the apartment unfortunately we went in the wrong direction. Eventually after about an hour we found the apartment only a five minute walk from the Plaza. The apartment is on the sixth floor but there is a lift to the fifth floor and then a few steps. It is a short walk from Retiro Park which is beautiful with plenty of shaded seated areas and also a short walk from the Prado, we went there twice. There is a very good cafe right across the street for breakfast. The bathroom is not inside the apartment but as you are the only people to use it, it did not pose a problem for us.
