Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
A tranquil villa apartment with all amenities in this exclusive part of Malta (pool, jacuzzi, barbecue, sun deck area, fish ponds, gazebos). Quiet and peaceful yet only minutes away from the entertainment hub of Paceville and the popular St. Julians Bay. Property also enjoys the use of a large swimming pool (41 sq. m), sunbeds, deckchairs, hammock for a couple, 3 seater hammock swing, rocking bench, 3 large umbrellas, gazebo seating for 8, barbecue area with its own fridge and kitchen facilities, shower and wc facilities by pool area. Access to pool area is via wooden bridge over large cascading koy fish pond. The dedicated solar heating system for the pool allows use of the pool from April to October. The romantic setting and spacious kitchen/sitting/dining area probably make this apartment as the most ideal for a couple.

This apartment also enjoys its own private front patio with garden furniture. Our garden, although small, is very mature and extremely well kept, providing a tranquil atmosphere, also helped by the sound of the cascading waters in the background.
Our own pets, (cats and dogs), other than the koy fish and turtles already mentioned, also have their own separate dens, and are well kept, pampered and cared for.
Prices include water, gas, electricity, linen and towels, wifi, TV satellite channels, pick-up from airport on arrival and complimentary food pack.
The Island of Malta region
The warmth of the Mediterranean sun, the clarity of the Mediterranean sea and the welcoming smiles of the Maltese people have won the hearts of visitors for years, but this tiny island also offers a host of diverse attractions and activities for those seeking a short break from the winter blues.
From balmy beaches and trendy nightclubs, to magnificent ancient monuments and a stunning legacy of centuries' old art and culture, Malta has something for everyone to enjoy.
Life is good on the Mediterranean island of Malta: warm sunshine, starry nights and lots to do, see, taste, feel and remember. Whether you're just visiting for a few days or spending a long lazy month on the island, you'll find Malta is alive with people, parties and events whatever the season. From summer jazz festivals and lunchtime concerts to thrilling theatre, music and arts events that pack the island's cultural calendar all year round.
Malta's strategic position midway between Europe and Africa made it a key possession for the many different conquering nations that ruled it throughout its 7000 years of history: from Neolithic man to the Ancient Romans, the Byzantines, the Moors, the Normans, the Knights of St John, the French and the British, all of whom have left a wealth of architectural and cultural treasures.
From the Baroque city of Valletta, a churches, galleries, shops, open air markets and boasting the remarkable St John's Co-Cathedral, home to Caravaggio's masterpiece the Beheading of St John, to the old capital, Mdina, the so-called 'Silent City, that quietly evokes a bygone era with its elegant stone palaces and hushed cobbled streets, to the St Paul's Catacombs in Rabat, Ggantija Neolithic Temples in Gozo, the World War II shelters and the Forts of St Elmo and St Angelo. In summer, get ready to enjoy firework fuelled village feasts in honour of village saints.
For those seeking adventure and an adrenaline rush, an early morning dive in the crystal clear waters of the Med checking out old war ships might be the thing to set your pulse racing, or test your endurance rock climbing high above the deep blue sea on the majestic Dingli Cliffs or head to the airport and enjoy the view from above with a skydiving jump. Wind down afterwards with a leisurely round of golf and afternoon tea on the lawns. The stunning historical settings of Valletta, Mdina or St Julians make the perfect backdrop to relaxation, sightseeing, concerts or sports.
Evenings are fun filled and full of activity: start with a typical Mediterranean fish dinner under the stars and continue with a buzzing night in one of Malta's many sophisticated nightlife venues. There's lots of choice too... pick from one of the hundreds of restaurants and cafes serving a wide range of local and international cuisine, and enjoy the island's vibrant nightlife, with its myriad pubs, wine bars, jazz clubs, discos, nightclubs and casinos offering entertainment for all ages.
Madliena's pristine location between two valleys of Swieqi and Gharghur provides a perfect opportunity for countryside walks. This hamlet is located on one of the highest points on the island (130m) thus helping to 'cool' down the hot summer nights with its gentle breeze off the nearby coastal areas. From this vantage point one can see right across the island, all the way from Marsaxlokk, to Mdina, Valletta, and on a clear day, also the northern towns of the island.
An important feature in Madliena are the Victoria lines where a natural fault runs roughly east to west across the island. It was the British who, between 1870 and 1900 built a series of four forts with intervening walls, gun emplacements and redoubts along the 12km of the ridge (an outstanding example of Victorian military architecture). Because of its vantage point, Madliena was mostly used for military reasons with the most important site in this respect being the Madliena Tower (within short walking distance and available for public viewing and visits).
Within close vicinity, one can also find the Meditteraneo Water Park, Malta’s only marine park. This is a popular place for both Maltese and tourists alike with its many water rides, attraction pools, and marine park, where one can also swim with dolphins.
The pool and garden areas have proven to be a refreshing start or close to any day, particularly if this was a warm or even a blistering one. But Malta has much more to offer than just lazing about in the sun. For this reason we have teamed up with some of the most interesting tour, leisure and event operators on the island, providing day cruises around the Maltese archipelago on a Turkish gullet, an evening’s entertainment extravaganza live show on the 1565 Great Siege of Malta, a visit to the nearby water marine park, an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience swim with the dolphins, or how about exploring some of the most interesting dive sites in the Mediterranean,. In collaboration with our friends at Go Dive Malta, we are now also able to offer this experience to practically everyone, from beginners to dive masters. Transport arrangements have also been secured for all these events to pick our guests from our apartments (or very close by). We have been called ‘a home away from home’ by some of our past guests, a name which honours us completely, and while we continue to dispense recommendations on what to do and where to go during your stay to help you better discover these culture-packed islands, we will strive to live up to that name and better our product.

"Ideal Winter Break"
We had previously visited Malta on three occasions and wanted to return for a long Winter break over the Christmas period and after much searching we chose the Sky Blue apartment. For a long break it… More
Thank you for such a lovely review. It was our pleasure to have you staying with us and to be our neighbours and not just our guests for this period. The feeling is mutual, we too gained friends, as we do with most of the people staying with us, particularly at this location as we get to see them more often than we do others in our apartments at Sliema, St. Julians or St. Paul's Bay.
We have been lucky to also follow up on these guests' stay with guests who also stayed with us for yet another month, who were also very sweet so we have kept the cordiality going; we're thinking of adopting you all and making you our permanent neighbours.
Toby is now also joining in in greeting our guests, always happy and playful with a few extra tricks up his sleeve (sorry, furry paw), participating in everything we do - a real show-off.
It will be a real treat to hear from you again, and should you again visit Malta we'd certainly want to see you. Drinks are on us!!!
Our best wishes to the both of you for a healthy and peaceful retirement.

"sympa compte tenu du prix"
les plus : appartement spacieux et bien aménagé, petite terrasse appréciable, un petit panier offert, le prix très bon marché, équipé pour un bébé, saint jullians à 10 min en voiture pour le… More
We thank these guests for having stayed with us even if only for 4 nights and for their positive comments about us. The price is indeed cheap and we try to keep it competetive for all our guests, year round.
In answer to the negative comments, we are sorry that these guests found that the dog and cats disturbed them. The guests also mentioned that the apartment is located in a village (actually it is a hamlet) in an area away from shops, etc. We are sorry that the guests may have not read the full advert because it is mentioned that we do have cats and dogs (actually we now only have one), and that we are located in a serene and quiet area but still close enough to St. Julians.
Our cleaners are present everyday and their first activity in the morning is to clean the gardens so we cannot see how these had been left in a mess. In addition, seeing that the guests had a small child, the dog was kept in its pen for the whole period and only taken out by us on a leash (others guests actually love to play with the dog and also take it out for walks, but we understand that not everyone is the same).
There are infact 3 windows in the apartment (a large one in the kitchen/lounge area, a small one in the bedroom, and a smaller one in the bathroom for ventilation). In addition, the window in the kitchen/lounge area faces south, meaning that it receives direct sunlight for most of the day, especially with the curtains fully drawn.
We are a family of only 3 people who actually live above the apartment. We are normally very quiet and unintrusive (as other reviews will show) and quite honestly had just returned from a long flight (from San Francisco) just a few hours earlier to their arrival so we were sleeping most of the time and cannot understand the noise we could have caused. Still, we regret any inconvenience these guests experienced as it is always our priority to make sure that our guests are well taken care of.
We had asked the guests the time of their departure from the apartment, mainly because we had another arrival on the same day. The question was not asked so as to quickly have the apartment vacated but rather because we would have provided these guests with another apartment, albeit smaller, where they could shower and rest for the rest of the day if these had a late night flight back home. As our check-out time is at 11:00 am, we normally provide this service whenever possible.
Perhaps one other plus that the guests failed to mention was the personal attention we greeted them with. On their arrival, having gotten lost in the streets leading to the apartment (the address and directions had been provided to them previously), my husband personally went out searching for them at 01:30am all over the hamlet, well knowing that they also had a child with them, and once located, then carried most of the luggage for them to the apartment so that they could tend to their child. Once inside, we provided them with water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, biscuits, cheese, ham, crackers, a bottle of wine, etc. to make sure that these would not sleep hungry.
Considering the cheap price the guests also mentioned in their review and the service provided, it was perhaps not such a bad deal after all. Admittedly, we are not 5-star, but neither is our price, and with all due respect, no 5-star accommodation would have provided any of their guests with the service mentioned above.
