Heated paddling Pool, waterfalling into Heated Main Pool
Four beautifuly restored Gites, created from renovated barns dating from 1745, situated in the midst of the Madiran vineyards in the heart of Gascony, close to the Pyrenees Mountains. The gites surround a private courtyard, with central fountain. Each gite has their own garden area with BBQ, dining area, garden furniture and share 2 large salt water HEATED swimming pools. Le Prielle is a place to recharge your batteries and spend quality family time together.

Le Prielle consists of 4 Gites (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6+)
Downstairs - 50msq. Lounge, with Satellite TV, DVD & Video. Fully fitted kitchen inclu. all utensils + double sink, dishwasher & washing machine and microwave. Wood burning stove.
Upstairs - Bedroom 1 - double,
Bedroom 2 twin,
Bedroom Bunks & a childs pine cot/bed.
Upstairs Bathroom with bath, shower, sink & toilet.
Downstairs Shower Room with shower, toilet & sink

Please note the Gites are very "roomy" & we try not to squash extra beds in - there really is plenty of space!

Electric central heating.
Each Gite has a log buring stove & is ideal for both summer & winter holidays.
An excellent holiday home for children - the Gites are Child friendly, a cot and a high chair & plenty of toys are available on request. The grounds are great for kids, spacious with no traffic. Help yourself to veggies from the plot, feed the hens & turkeys and collect eggs,

A Satellite television, DVD & Video machine & a selection of both English & French DVDs & Videos are available. WIFI available & free on the veranda at the main house.
Mini Bar games available - pool, table football, air hockey. Table tennis & badminton, plus a Rugby post - for budding players of all ages. Tennis in the village - indoor & out, Canoeing, water skiing & horse riding available
with local friends of ours. Mini golf, camel farm all nearby. Further afield supurb walking in the Pyrenees, beautiful beaches at Hendye & Spain.
Also wine tasting tours, again with people we know well.
Laundry is provided, at no extra charge.
Pets welcome - by arrangement.

Private customer parking. The gites surround a private courtyard, with central fountain. Each gite has its own garden area with a gas Outback BBQ, dining area and garden furniture however guests are invited to explore the whole grounds which include a woodland, woodland walks, orchard & ancient chapel.
The pool area is furnished with seating & umbrellas and is 100msq. The pools are heated.
Mini Bar games available - pool, table football, air hockey. Table tennis & badminton, plus a Rugby post - for budding players of all ages.

Skiing
Excellent skiing, for all levels, is available at Bareges & La Mongie 60km. Especially good nursery areas & clubs are available for small children.

Special interest holidays
Guided visits of the local Chateau's & Vineyards provided by the owners, with wine tasting at each location (driver provided!). Gourmet meals at local restruarants - Le Prieurie, Madiran village, wonderful cep omlettes at Le Relais d'Aydie.

Also available by arrangement, in house gourmet meals cooked for you by a Marciac chef - an excellent way to celebrate special occassions - 40th & 50th birthdays, anniversaries, and family parties for New Year & Christmas are all catered for.

Painting, (all media), drawing, paper making courses are run with the owner (English/French speaking).
1/2 day - 25€ per person, materials provided. Please enquire on arrival.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Hautes-Pyrenees region

Close to the market towns of Plaisance du Gers, Vic en Bigorre, Maubourguet and Aire sur l'Adour visitors are spoilt for choice when looking for quality regional produce.
The areas around Madiran include the wine growing region of St Mont, Juracon and the Bearn. In addition, within easy reach, to the north is the Armagnac region and some of the most charming towns in South West France.
Local Facilities: 3km to nearest village - MADIRAN - where there is a Boulangerie, Bar, Wine Shop & Tasting, Public Pool & Tennis Court. CASTLENAU - where there is an Epicerie & pharmacy.

The Madiran area

Wine tasting, a tour of some of the local Chateaux, an introduction & a chance to buy from the producers direct - plus guides/translators & drivers can all be arranged - please just ask.
Mini-golf, fishing, water-skiing, camel rides & horse riding are all available locally.
In the mountaiins you can tree climb, go rafting, rock climbing, skiing, hiking & walking.
The historic town of Lourdes, is 45 mins. away. Visitors can worship and visit the cave where Bernadette had her vision.

Madiran - 14/15 August - Fete du Vin - where all local producers offer free tasting of thier wines & foods. Music & meals available over a period of 4 days.
November - Portes ouverts - where all producers open their Chais for tasting & purchasing prior to Christmas.
Marciac - International Jazz festival - 2 weeks of music, stalls & food from around the world.
Plaisance du Gers - July - huge street fete, including course landaise.
Maubourguet - August - huge street fete over 4 days including bull fighting & course landaise and visiting artists work in the streets.

“Relaxing envirenment with a touch of class” We were not dissapointed at all with our stay, you have the choice of either relaxing by the pool and surrounding gardens, wonderful walks soaking up the beautiful scenery or to taste the local wine (highly reccomended), short drive to shops and restaurants fab views of the Pyrenees .Great place to stay and ran by great people. “Relaxing home from home.” Staying at Le Prielle was a great tonic for us all. We have two teenage boys and two smaller girls and we were all catered for with so much to see and do. Simon and Paulette made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The girls thoroughly enjoyed collecting eggs from the chickens and helping Paulette in the veggie garden as well as swimming in the pool, which has magnificent views over looking the French countryside, a perfect place for an appretif before heading off into Madiran for dinner. There is plenty to see and do in this region of France, from crazy golf to local village fetes. Le Prielle caters for all, families with young children, there's swings and sandpits and the pool. For teenagers there are many local activities to partake in and for the adults Simon will take you wine tasting and recommend the best local markets to go to! We are returning guests as Le Prielle gives us the opportunity to relax, chill out and spend time together as a family. As a family we would highly recommend Le Prielle. Response: Thank you!

“Plenty for the kids to do and plenty of space” Le Prielle gave our children plenty of space to burn off their energy in the pool, on the football/rugby pitch and vineyards. This allowed my wife and I to relax, get into some good books and plan some excursions. Simon and Paulette gave us excellent recommendations for local vineyards all within 10 miles. It was also a good base for visiting Lourdes, the ancient city of Pau and the Pyrenees. Hope to go back for the wine festival in the near future and the local Marciac Jazz festival Response: Thank you!
