"Scallop Cottage" is a cosy, well presented fishermans cottage, tucked away off Market Street in the coastal town of Macduff. Across the road is a quaint cafe with homebakes, popular fish shop and the award- winning marine aquarium.

Accommodation includes a modern dining kitchen, cosy lounge, extra sitting/ sleeping room, downstairs wc and whb, 2 upstairs bedrooms and family bathroom with shower. It is very comfortable and tasteful, with a coastal theme throughout.

Macduff is a historic fishing port with a picturesque harbour and church on the hill and "Scallop Cottage" is convenient for all the towns amenities, including shops, restaurants and other services.

It is an ideal holiday base, a short walk from the harbour and prestigious golf courses- ideally placed for venturing out to explore a wealth of coastal walks, countryside and culture.

Cosy cottage, tastefully decorated with " coastal" touches from Mermaids to Orcas! Sea views from upstairs bedroom.

"Scallop Cottage" is an ideal base from which to discover this truly unique comer of North East Scotland, including the Moray Firth and the Grampian Highlands.

There are plenty of opportunities to get out and about on land and sea and really enjoy the great outdoors, with walking, birdwatching, Golfing, fishing, boat trips, water sports and cycling nearby.

Further afield there are miles or dramatic coastline, with its wealth of wildlife (bottle- nosed dolphins, Minke whales and seals regularly seen), quiet sandy beaches and a myriad of pretty fishing villages.

Heading inland, the whisky and castle trails offer stunning scenery and the chance of a wee dram!

The Moray Firth is well known for its mild climate, wide sweeping beaches and skies, with amazing sunsets...ENJOY!


There are a wide range of amenities nearby. These include local shops, cafes/ restaurants and the harbour (fishing boat trips) and Marine aquarium, within a few hundred metres. Less than a mile away over the Deveron bridge is Duff House, one of Scotland's finest architectural masterpieces which provides a regular programme of events, with impressive woodland walks and children's play park.

There is a swimming pool and sports centre in Banff and a wonderful sandy beach at the Links (also water sports, which compliment the rugged slendour of other parts of the coast.

Macduff is part of the North Sea trail and there are some amazing coastal walks from St Cyrus to Cullen, not to mention the championship golf courses of Tarlair (Macduff), the Duff House Royal at Banff and the Myrus golf centre, five minutes drive way.

The area hosts the coastal Visual Arts Festival in Macdull/ Banff and the Scottish Traditional Boat festival in Portsoy.
